- • Own the full accounting lifecycle for a hyper-growth AI company that is redefining how music is created and experienced. You will architect the policies, systems, and culture that ensure every dollar, euro, yen, and stream is captured, classified, and communicated with precision.
- • Lead the build-out and day-to-day leadership of Suno’s accounting organization—financial reporting, technical accounting, compliance, AP, AR, payroll, and tax—while simultaneously rolling up your sleeves to post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and close the books when the team needs an extra set of hands.
- • Translate Suno’s ambitious product roadmap into a financial infrastructure that can scale from Series B to IPO and beyond. This includes selecting and implementing ERP, billing, procurement, and FP&A tools that talk to each other and to our AI music engine.
- • Produce timely, accurate, and audit-ready financial statements in full accordance with U.S. GAAP. You will own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, drive continuous improvement in close cadence, and present results to the Board and investors with clarity and confidence.
- • Design and maintain a best-in-class internal control environment that satisfies SOX, investor, and lender requirements without slowing innovation. You will map risks, draft policies, train stakeholders, and partner with Engineering to embed controls into code and workflows.
- • Serve as the technical accounting authority for novel and complex transactions—licensing deals, creator revenue-share models, tokenized royalties, international expansion, and new B2B SaaS offerings—ensuring each is recorded, disclosed, and communicated correctly.
- • Partner with the CFO and cross-functional leaders (Product, Engineering, Creator Success, Legal) to turn financial data into strategic insight. You will build dashboards that reveal unit economics, cohort retention, and LTV/CAC trends that guide pricing, marketing spend, and roadmap prioritization.
- • Mentor and grow a world-class accounting team. You will recruit, coach, and retain top talent, establish clear career paths, and foster a culture of curiosity, ownership, and musical creativity.
- • Own global tax strategy and compliance—federal, state, local, and international—working closely with external advisors to optimize structure, credits, and incentives while eliminating surprises.
- • Manage relationships with external auditors, bankers, insurers, and tax authorities; ensure timely deliverables, clean opinions, and favorable terms that support Suno’s growth narrative.
- • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the finance organization and across Suno, ensuring that policies, processes, and team dynamics reflect the global community of creators we serve.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role at a high-growth technology or SaaS company
- • CPA license active and in good standing; deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and multi-entity consolidations
- • Proven track record of leading a full-cycle monthly close to ≤5 business days and delivering investor-grade financials under tight deadlines
- • Hands-on experience selecting and implementing an ERP (NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent) and integrating billing, procurement, and FP&A modules
- • Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and scale an accounting team of 5–15 people across general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and tax functions
