Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As a seasoned Controller at Mostudio LLC (MO), you will be instrumental in shaping the financial backbone of a rapidly scaling organization dedicated to empowering government leaders and driving impactful change through innovative solutions. This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role where you will not only oversee the day-to-day accounting operations but also architect and implement the robust financial infrastructure essential for a growing federal government contractor.
  • • Your core responsibilities will encompass the meticulous management of all accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), intricate billing processes, maintaining the integrity of the General Ledger (GL), and ensuring a timely and accurate financial close. You will be the guardian of MO's financial health, ensuring precision and compliance in every transaction.
  • • Beyond daily operations, you will play a crucial role in supporting comprehensive financial planning activities. This includes contributing to corporate budgeting, developing and managing Earned Value Management (EVM) for program Estimates at Completion (EACs), and executing accurate cash flow forecasting to ensure MO's financial stability and strategic growth.
  • • This position demands a profound understanding of Government Contracting (GovCon) accounting principles and practices. Your expertise in navigating the complexities of federal regulations, DCAA compliance, and cost accounting standards will be paramount to MO's continued success and expansion within the government sector.
  • • A strong proficiency with Unanet, a leading ERP system for government contractors, is a non-negotiable requirement. You will leverage Unanet to its full potential, optimizing its use for financial reporting, project accounting, and overall operational efficiency.
  • • You will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and the broader leadership team. Your insights and guidance will be critical in fostering strong financial discipline across the organization, ensuring unwavering regulatory compliance, and building scalable financial operations that can support MO's ambitious growth trajectory.
  • • This role is designed to be remote-first, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute from anywhere. However, candidates located in major GovCon hubs such as Northern Virginia, the DC Metro area, Tampa, San Antonio, Colorado Springs, or Huntsville are particularly encouraged to apply, as proximity to key government contracting ecosystems can be advantageous.
  • • While remote, you should be prepared for periodic travel, estimated at no more than 10-15%, to Phoenix for essential leadership planning sessions and strategic meetings, fostering collaboration and alignment within the executive team.
  • • You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, adhering to the highest standards of professional conduct.
  • • This role involves managing and potentially developing a small accounting team as the company grows, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • • You will be the primary point of contact for external auditors and government compliance agencies, ensuring smooth and successful audits and reviews.
  • • Your analytical skills will be crucial in identifying financial trends, developing key performance indicators (KPIs), and providing actionable insights to drive business decisions and optimize profitability.
  • • You will contribute to the development and refinement of financial policies and procedures, ensuring they align with MO's strategic objectives and evolving regulatory landscape.
  • • This is an opportunity to make a significant impact, building the financial infrastructure that supports MO's mission to engineer scalable, human-centered solutions for government agencies and drive sustainable change.
