Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Drive life-changing impact by coordinating the National MS Society’s flagship endurance and community events—Walk MS, Hike MS, Climb to the Top, Bike MS, Challenge Walk MS, and Finish MS—raising critical funds that accelerate research toward a world free of MS.
- • Own end-to-end volunteer engagement: recruit, onboard, schedule, and inspire hundreds of volunteers across Northern Florida, serving as their primary point of contact and ensuring every participant feels valued, informed, and empowered to champion the mission.
- • Manage vendor relationships for t-shirts, incentives, signage, and event supplies; track inventory levels, negotiate delivery timelines, and guarantee on-site setup so every event looks polished and professional.
- • Build and steward a personal portfolio of donors giving up to $1,000, crafting tailored communications, recognition plans, and follow-up strategies that deepen loyalty and increase lifetime value.
- • Lead in-kind donation drives—securing water, snacks, first-aid supplies, and promotional items—leveraging local businesses and community partners to reduce costs and amplify community ownership.
- • Design and distribute event materials: detailed donor briefings, minute-by-minute run-of-shows, scaled site layouts, color-coded volunteer assignments, and real-time participant lists that keep cross-functional teams aligned and events running flawlessly.
- • Provide boots-on-the-ground support at up to 20 events per year, troubleshooting registration hiccups, motivating volunteers at 6 a.m. rest stops, and celebrating finish-line victories that turn first-time participants into lifelong advocates.
- • Collaborate with Directors and Assistant Directors to translate regional fundraising goals into tactical event calendars, ensuring each market has the resources, staffing, and marketing assets needed to exceed revenue targets.
- • Partner with regional development coordinators to pilot new cultivation initiatives—sunrise yoga warm-ups, survivor tribute laps, or local celebrity meet-and-greets—then codify best practices into standard operating procedures that scale across the Southeast Region.
- • Champion data integrity by entering donor interactions, volunteer hours, and vendor contracts into the CRM within 24 hours, generating dashboards that spotlight trends and inform strategic pivots in real time.
- • Uphold confidentiality and compliance standards when handling donor records, medical waivers, and emergency contact information, ensuring every participant’s privacy is safeguarded.
- • Embrace a hybrid work model: spend roughly 50 % of your time on the road—loading trucks in Jacksonville, cheering riders in Gainesville, or hiking trails in Tallahassee—while the remaining time is spent collaborating remotely with teammates across five states.
- • Contribute to an inclusive, mission-driven culture where every staff member, volunteer, and participant feels seen, heard, and valued; actively participate in diversity, equity, and inclusion trainings and affinity groups.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1+ years of administrative, fundraising, or customer service experience, preferably in a nonprofit or development setting
- • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with donor databases or CRM systems strongly preferred
- • Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple calendars, track deadlines, and maintain meticulous records
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, paired with meticulous attention to detail in correspondence and data entry
- • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50 % throughout Northern Florida and the Southeast Region
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary range of $50,000–$55,000, with final offers tailored to geographic location and experience
- • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and disability coverage
- • 401(k) retirement savings plan with generous Society match and additional voluntary benefit offerings
- • Considerable paid time off plan plus paid holidays, plus a Commuter Benefit Plan to offset travel costs
- • Spring Health Membership offering free therapy and professional coaching to support mental wellness and career growth
