đź“‹ Description

  • • As the Corporate Counsel at 15Five, you will be the primary legal partner, owning and scaling core legal operations to support our rapidly growing AI-powered performance management platform. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker who can balance risk management with business enablement, ensuring our legal framework supports innovation and growth.
  • • You will be instrumental in managing the entire contract lifecycle, from initial review and negotiation to finalization. This includes a wide array of agreements such as Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and order forms. Your expertise will be crucial in gathering internal feedback from Sales, Finance, and Customer Success teams to understand customer needs and devise optimal solutions, while also identifying and addressing consistent contracting issues to enhance our processes.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve owning privacy, data protection, and security-related legal matters. You will review and manage DPAs, advise on complex data protection obligations under regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and the EU AI Act, and collaborate closely with our Security and Compliance teams on SOC 2 requirements and audits. You will also support essential compliance training initiatives to ensure the organization remains informed and adherent.
  • • You will lead and monitor regulatory and compliance initiatives, staying ahead of evolving regulations that impact SaaS, AI, HR technology, privacy, and employment data. By partnering cross-functionally, you will ensure that compliance obligations are clearly understood and diligently met across the organization.
  • • This position demands comprehensive corporate, HR, IP, and operational legal support. You will coordinate with Finance on insurance policies and broker relationships, support corporate governance matters, and manage the legal aspects of leases and subleases. Guidance on independent contractor agreements, both domestic and international, will also fall under your purview. Furthermore, you will work with external IP counsel to manage trademarks, patents, and our overall intellectual property strategy.
  • • Beyond transactional and compliance work, you will serve as a strategic legal partner to the entire organization. This involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice to Sales, Finance, HR, Product, and Operations teams. You will collaborate with outside counsel on specialized legal matters, including employment and IP, and play a key role in building and documenting scalable legal processes that facilitate growth while effectively managing risk.
  • • Your ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements will be paramount, ensuring the company's interests are protected while identifying practical, business-oriented solutions. You will leverage a deep understanding of relevant areas of law, including contract, privacy, employment, intellectual property, corporate law, and regulatory compliance, with a specific focus on emerging AI regulations.
  • • This role requires exceptional organizational and prioritization skills to manage competing demands in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment. You will need a high level of attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Perseverance, humor, and dedication are valued, alongside a strong backbone when necessary to navigate complex legal challenges.
  • • You will be responsible for problem-solving, analyzing intricate legal issues, and delivering practical, business-oriented solutions. Your familiarity with the SaaS and AI industries will be a significant asset, enabling you to understand and address the unique legal challenges and regulations within our sector.
  • • This is a unique opportunity to shape the legal function of a forward-thinking company at the forefront of AI in HR technology. You will contribute to a culture of personal and professional growth, working with a high-purpose, high-performance team dedicated to building the future of work. Your contributions will directly impact the company's ability to thrive and innovate responsibly.
