- • Overhaul Jerry.ai’s customer communications by transforming transactional messaging in CRM, email, SMS, and in-app copy into value-additive, relationship-driven content that builds trust and emotional connection around car ownership.
- • Define and establish Jerry’s brand voice and personality from scratch in partnership with the CEO, creating a cohesive tone across all organic customer touchpoints with no existing playbook to follow.
- • Write all primary copy for lifecycle campaigns including onboarding sequences, renewal reminders, maintenance alerts, and claims guidance, ensuring each message reduces customer stress and increases perceived care.
- • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Growth, and Customer Insights teams to align messaging with user pain points, behavioral data, and product updates, turning qualitative insights into empathetic, human-centered copy.
- • Craft and optimize push notifications and in-app tooltips to guide users with clarity, warmth, and personality—making dry topics like insurance, financing, and repairs feel accessible and reassuring.
- • Engage directly with customers on organic platforms such as Reddit, responding to threads, addressing concerns, and gathering real-time feedback to inform messaging strategy and brand tone.
- • Lead the creation of organic content beyond email and in-app channels, expanding into social media, community forums, and educational content that builds brand affinity and long-term customer loyalty.
- • Champion the unmeasurable impact of brand experience by advocating for emotionally resonant copy even when metrics are slow to reflect its value, pushing back against purely data-first decision-making.
- • Translate complex, high-stress topics (e.g., insurance claims, loan terms, repair costs) into clear, conversational, and reassuring language that resonates with everyday drivers across diverse backgrounds.
- • Establish measurable success metrics for messaging effectiveness based on engagement, retention, NPS, and customer sentiment—not just click-through rates—to prove the ROI of brand building.
- • Serve as the sole owner of Jerry’s customer-facing voice during Phase 1, personally writing all core copy without managing direct reports, while scaling influence across teams as the brand evolves.
- • Identify gaps in current communications where lack of empathy or clarity undermines customer trust, and propose narrative-driven alternatives that turn functional interactions into moments of care.
- • Stay attuned to cultural shifts in consumer communication, especially within fintech and insurtech, to ensure Jerry’s voice remains distinctive, modern, and genuinely human.
- • Build a repository of tone guidelines, copy templates, and messaging frameworks that become the foundation for future hires and scaled communications.
- • Work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment, balancing strategic brand-building with high-volume, deadline-driven copy production across multiple channels.
- • Maintain alignment with Jerry’s mission to simplify car ownership by ensuring every word communicates accessibility, fairness, and support—never complexity, confusion, or sales pressure.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in creative marketing with a focus on organic growth and copywriting
- • Proven track record with organic channels including email, SMS, and social media
- • Experience working with consumer brands and translating complex, dry topics into engaging, human-centered messaging
- • Portfolio showcasing writing and creative craft in lifecycle marketing contexts
- • Bachelor's Degree
