• • Prototype experimental AI interfaces that move beyond traditional chat-based UIs to explore novel modes of human-AI interaction.
• • Build functional proof-of-concept experiences using web technologies, AI models, and third-party APIs to rapidly test interaction ideas.
• • Investigate and evaluate emerging HCI patterns related to human control, trust, transparency, memory, multimodal input, and long-running workflows.
• • Collaborate closely with product, design, and machine learning teams to translate early-stage concepts into testable, tangible prototypes.
• • Identify and adapt useful interaction models from academic research, competitor products, and emerging tools to inform A1’s user experience direction.
• • Design and execute experiments that test how users understand, direct, and collaborate with proactive AI systems in real-world contexts.
• • Document all experiments rigorously: articulating what was tested, what outcomes were observed, what failed, and what should be prioritized for next iteration.
• • Contribute to shaping the team’s collective understanding of what effective, intuitive, and reliable HCI should look and feel like in a consumer-facing AI product.
• • Balance creativity with practicality by distinguishing between intriguing experimental ideas and those with clear user value and product potential.
• • Work in a high-speed, high-talent-density environment where independent judgment, structure, and execution are essential to progress.
• • Operate comfortably in ambiguity, navigating the non-deterministic nature of current AI systems while striving for reliability in long-running task workflows.
• • Translate technical capabilities and user behavior insights into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams.
• • Maintain a strong focus on user-centered design principles while leveraging technical prototyping skills to validate hypotheses quickly.
• • Engage in iterative cycles of ideation, build, test, learn, and refine to drive product direction based on empirical evidence rather than assumptions.
