  • • As a Customer Solutions Architect based in Austin, Texas (Hybrid), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our existing customers maximize the value derived from their dbt Cloud deployments. You will collaborate closely with Sales Directors and Solutions Architects, acting as a trusted technical advisor to a dedicated portfolio of commercial or enterprise accounts.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to proactively monitor the health, adoption, and utilization of dbt Cloud within your assigned customer base. This involves identifying opportunities for expansion, mitigating risks of churn or contraction, and fostering strong, long-term relationships with key technical stakeholders.
  • • You will lead in-depth technical discussions, conduct compelling live demos, and deliver insightful technical workshops to showcase how dbt Cloud can address evolving customer data challenges and strategic objectives.
  • • A key aspect of this role is to deeply understand each customer's unique analytics needs and use cases, translating these into actionable strategies for leveraging dbt Cloud to achieve their business goals.
  • • You will be instrumental in increasing customer loyalty and retention by consistently demonstrating the value of dbt Cloud and educating customers on new product features and underutilized existing functionalities.
  • • Internally, you will serve as the crucial "voice of the customer," providing invaluable feedback to our product and engineering teams to ensure dbt Labs continues to build solutions that solve real-world problems and delight our user base.
  • • As an early member of the Customer Solutions Architect team, you will contribute significantly to the development and refinement of our processes, playbooks, and best practices, shaping how we engage with and support our growing customer community.
  • • You will actively participate in a knowledge-sharing loop, contributing to the improvement of our internal processes and assets, and enabling your colleagues through shared learnings and expertise.
  • • This role also involves creating and delivering external-facing content, which may include participating in live events, writing blog posts, developing recorded tutorials, and contributing to other knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, a deep understanding of modern data warehousing architectures, the analytics stack, and proficiency in SQL. You should be comfortable presenting to diverse audiences and adept at operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, thinking critically and responding effectively during customer interactions.
  • • We are looking for a collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic setting, eager to contribute to the evolution of the Customer Solutions Architect team and build strong partnerships across Sales and Solutions Architecture.
  • • A willingness to travel for external and internal events is required, underscoring our commitment to in-person relationship building, which complements our remote-first culture.
  • • This hybrid role requires you to be in the Austin office two days per week, balancing remote flexibility with in-person collaboration.
  • • By driving customer satisfaction and success, you will directly contribute to the renewal and expansion of our customer base, solidifying dbt Labs' position as the indispensable data control plane for enterprises worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 2+ years of experience in a post-sales customer-facing role, such as a Technical Account Manager or Customer Success Engineer.
  • • Solid technical background with a strong understanding of modern data warehousing architectures, the analytics stack, and proficiency in SQL.
  • • High degree of comfort presenting to various stakeholders or audiences, ideally with experience in an externally facing role.
  • • Ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment and think on your feet when engaged in customer conversations.
  • • Desire to be part of a team, both as an active member of the Customer Solutions Architect team as we continue to evolve and improve how we work, and in your day-to-day work with Sales Directors and Solutions Architects.
  • • Openness to travel. While we work in a remote first company, we value the power of in-person relationship building, both internally and externally, so a willingness to travel to external and internal events is required.
