  • • As a Customer Solutions Architect at dbt Labs, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our existing customers maximize the value derived from their dbt Cloud deployments. This is a post-sales, customer-facing position where you will act as a trusted technical advisor, partnering closely with Sales Directors and Solutions Architects to nurture and grow our customer base.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to proactively manage a portfolio of commercial customers. This involves continuously monitoring account health, tracking product adoption and utilization patterns, and identifying opportunities for expansion while also mitigating risks of churn or contraction. By understanding the unique data challenges and strategic objectives of each customer, you will be instrumental in driving their success with dbt Cloud.
  • • You will be the primary point of contact for technical discussions, conducting in-depth conversations with customers to understand their evolving analytics needs and use cases. Through live demonstrations, tailored technical workshops, and insightful guidance, you will showcase how dbt Cloud can effectively address their challenges and help them achieve their business goals.
  • • A key aspect of your role will be to enhance customer loyalty and retention by building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with key technical stakeholders within customer accounts. Your ability to articulate the value proposition of dbt Cloud and demonstrate its impact on their data initiatives will be crucial for long-term customer satisfaction.
  • • You will be responsible for increasing the value customers derive from dbt Cloud by educating them on new product releases, features, and best practices. This includes highlighting existing functionalities they may not be fully leveraging, ensuring they are always at the forefront of data transformation and analytics engineering.
  • • Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work hand-in-hand with Sales Directors and Solutions Architects on your assigned accounts, providing strategic input on the customer lifecycle, renewal processes, and expansion strategies. Your insights will be invaluable in ensuring a seamless and successful customer journey.
  • • Internally, you will serve as the crucial 'voice of the customer.' Your feedback and observations will directly influence product development, ensuring that dbt Labs continues to build solutions that solve real-world problems and delight our users. You will be an integral part of the foundational Customer Solutions Architect team, actively contributing to the development of our processes, playbooks, and best practices.
  • • You will also participate in a continuous knowledge loop, helping to improve our internal processes and assets, and enabling other team members through knowledge sharing and mentorship. This includes creating and delivering external-facing content, such as live events, blog posts, and recorded tutorials, to further establish dbt Labs as a thought leader in the analytics engineering space.
  • • This role requires a proactive, consultative approach, with a strong technical aptitude and a passion for customer success. You will be empowered to think on your feet, adapt to fast-paced environments, and contribute to a growing and dynamic team.
  • • By driving customer satisfaction, fostering deeper product adoption, and identifying expansion opportunities, you will directly contribute to the renewal and growth of our customer base, solidifying dbt Cloud's position as the leading analytics engineering platform.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 2+ years of experience in a post-sales role (e.g., Technical Account Manager, Customer Success Engineer) or as a data practitioner.
  • • Solid technical background with a strong understanding of modern data warehousing architectures, the analytics stack, and proficiency in SQL.
  • • High degree of comfort presenting to various stakeholders and audiences, ideally with prior experience in an externally facing role.
  • • Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, thinking critically and adapting quickly during customer conversations.
  • • Desire to be part of a collaborative team, actively contributing to process improvements and working effectively with Sales Directors and Solutions Architects.
