- • As a Customer Success Engineer at Perplexity AI, you will be a pivotal member of our dedicated Support team, acting as the primary technical liaison for our strategic enterprise accounts across the APAC region. Your role is crucial in ensuring these high-value customers derive maximum benefit from our cutting-edge AI-powered search and question-answering platform, particularly our robust API offerings.
- • You will be at the forefront of tackling complex technical challenges, acting as a deep subject matter expert for Perplexity's API and product suite. This involves not only troubleshooting intricate issues but also proactively educating customers on best practices and optimal utilization of our platforms to achieve their specific business objectives.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will be to serve as the dedicated technical resource and advocate for our most important API and product customers. This means building strong, trust-based relationships with customer leaders and operators, understanding their unique application architectures, and ensuring the seamless integration and successful operation of Perplexity's technology within their ecosystems.
- • You will collaborate closely with our Enterprise, Mobile, and API teams to diagnose and resolve customer-reported issues. This often requires engaging with internal leadership and coordinating resources across multiple departments to ensure swift and effective problem resolution. Your ability to navigate internal structures and rally support will be key to customer satisfaction.
- • A critical aspect of this role is translating real-world customer issues and feedback into actionable insights. You will work hand-in-hand with our Engineering, Customer Experience, and Go-To-Market teams to identify patterns, develop scalable solutions, and implement improvements. This includes driving automations and process enhancements that benefit both our customers and our internal operations.
- • You will be instrumental in building and disseminating technical knowledge within the Support team and across the organization. This involves documenting solutions, creating internal and external facing technical content, and contributing to the overall growth of our collective expertise in AI and search technologies.
- • Your day-to-day will involve deep technical dives, investigating complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges. You'll be expected to analyze logs, debug code, and reproduce issues to pinpoint root causes.
- • You will also play a key role in pre-sales and onboarding technical discussions for enterprise clients, helping them understand the technical capabilities and integration pathways of Perplexity's offerings.

🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in English and Japanese is a must.
- • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, tooling, or similar technical roles.
- • Excellent proficiency in Python and NodeJS, with a proven track record of developing scalable applications.
- • Good knowledge of a major Cloud Service Provider platform (e.g., AWS).
- • Hands-on experience in using Agentic Coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex).
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
