  • • As a Cybersecurity Analyst at SOLV Energy, you will be at the forefront of protecting our critical infrastructure and data from evolving cyber threats. This fully remote role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact the security posture of a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, specializing in utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation projects nationwide.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be the vigilant monitoring, meticulous triage, in-depth analysis, and thorough investigation of security alerts and identified vulnerabilities across our diverse technology environment. This involves validating alerts generated by our security tools, conducting detailed log and endpoint analysis to uncover suspicious activities, and performing proactive threat hunting to identify potential breaches before they escalate.
  • • You will play a crucial role in supporting digital forensics investigations, leveraging advanced data analytics techniques to detect subtle patterns indicative of malicious activity and to reconstruct events in the aftermath of a security incident.
  • • Beyond immediate response duties, this position is dedicated to the continuous improvement of our security monitoring and detection capabilities. You will be instrumental in identifying and closing critical visibility gaps, strengthening our existing defensive controls, and proactively safeguarding company systems and sensitive data against the latest emerging cyber threats.
  • • A key aspect of your role will be to evaluate, document, and respond to recommendations or alerts originating from our internal security tools and our Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP), ensuring timely and effective action.
  • • You will actively monitor and analyze security logs and alerts, working to proactively detect, respond to, and assist other IT team members with potential security incidents, thereby minimizing risk and impact.
  • • Regular security assessments and audits will be part of your remit, focusing on identifying vulnerabilities and recommending or implementing appropriate remediation measures to bolster our defenses.
  • • Collaboration is essential; you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, robust policies, and effective procedures that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • • As an integral part of the Security Operations (SecOps) team, you will ensure continuous compliance with all security requirements, maintaining a strong security posture across the organization.
  • • You will be expected to proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing security processes and help develop and suggest innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • • Providing guidance and recommendations on the secure deployment of new technologies and systems within the organization will be a vital contribution, ensuring security is embedded from the outset.
  • • You will also assist with other critical security aspects, including conducting vendor security assessments and supporting audit needs, ensuring third-party risks are managed effectively.
  • • Contributing to the education and training of process/control owners to enhance their understanding of technology control frameworks and their specific responsibilities will be a valuable part of your role.
  • • Generating regular reports and detailed technical documentation for the SecOps team will be necessary to maintain clear records and communicate findings effectively.
  • • You will support the entire incident response lifecycle, from initial identification and containment through eradication, recovery, and post-incident lessons learned, ensuring a structured and effective response.
  • • Reviewing security detections for tuning opportunities, with a solid understanding of how they align with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, will help refine our detection logic and improve accuracy.
  • • You will contribute to the development and maintenance of incident response plans and business continuity strategies, ensuring the organization is prepared for various scenarios.
  • • Participation in an on-call rotation for security incident response is expected, ensuring 24/7 coverage for critical security events.
  • • This role requires a proactive, analytical, and collaborative mindset, with a strong commitment to protecting SOLV Energy's digital assets and reputation. You will be empowered to make a tangible difference in a rapidly growing and dynamic industry.
