đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Cloud Engineer at Health Catalyst, you will be instrumental in designing, automating, and operating the core Azure cloud platform that underpins our flagship Ignite product and the broader Health Catalyst engineering ecosystem.
- • This role is not about traditional infrastructure support; instead, it focuses on the strategic evolution of Azure platform patterns. You will shape how other engineering teams build and deploy their solutions by establishing robust patterns for networking, identity management, deployment automation, governance, and reliability.
- • You will operate at the critical intersection of cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and platform automation, with the primary goal of building secure, scalable, and highly repeatable Azure foundations.
- • Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering teams by improving environment provisioning, streamlining deployment workflows, and fostering overall operational excellence through the adoption of strong engineering practices and an automation-first mindset.
- • You will be a key player in solving complex Azure infrastructure challenges, architecting and implementing scalable, secure cloud solutions that meet the demanding needs of a leading healthcare performance improvement company.
- • A systems-thinking approach is essential, encompassing an understanding of foundational patterns such as landing zones, secure networking configurations, robust identity boundaries, and the implementation of least-privilege access models to ensure maximum security and compliance.
- • You will be responsible for building and maintaining reusable, idempotent Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring that all automation is clean, reliable, and maintainable.
- • A significant part of your role will involve designing and improving CI/CD workflows, leveraging Azure DevOps and Git-based practices to facilitate seamless multi-environment deployments.
- • You will champion an automation-first philosophy, prioritizing observability, resiliency, and automated solutions over manual interventions to enhance system stability and reduce operational overhead.
- • Effective collaboration across diverse engineering teams will be crucial, enabling you to deliver scalable, developer-friendly platform capabilities that empower innovation.
- • You will possess a broad understanding of both infrastructure and application layers, recognizing and optimizing their interdependencies for peak performance and efficiency.
- • You will actively model strong engineering standards through mentorship of junior engineers, rigorous code reviews, fostering a sense of shared ownership, and committing to continuous learning and professional development.
- • Your primary responsibilities will include the end-to-end design, build, and maintenance of Azure-based cloud foundations that are critical for Ignite and other internal Health Catalyst systems.
- • You will be responsible for the deployment and ongoing management of Azure infrastructure, utilizing Terraform, Azure DevOps pipelines, and other advanced automation tooling.
- • A key focus will be on implementing and maintaining robust infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and comprehensive platform automation strategies.
- • You will design and maintain secure networking architectures, including the configuration of VNets, subnets, private endpoints, routing, and NAT gateways to ensure secure and efficient data flow.
- • Management of Databricks workspaces will be part of your remit, encompassing their networking, access control configurations, and compute resource management.
- • You will continuously strive to improve the reliability, observability, and scalability of platform components through proactive monitoring and sophisticated automation techniques.
- • You will actively partner with various engineering teams to seamlessly integrate platform tooling into their existing CI/CD workflows, enhancing their development velocity.
- • You will contribute to and champion a collaborative engineering support model that fundamentally prioritizes automation and self-service over manual intervention, driving efficiency and reducing bottlenecks.
- • You will ensure that all platform designs and implementations adhere to the highest standards of security and compliance, aligning with Health Catalyst's commitment to protecting sensitive healthcare data.
