Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Join Parker, a rapidly scaling Series B fintech company on a mission to empower independent business owners with the financial tools they need to scale profitably. We are seeking an exceptional Data Analyst I, an early-career professional with strong technical fundamentals, sharp business intuition, and a high bar for quality, to play a pivotal role in shaping how Parker leverages data across critical business functions.
  • • This is not a routine reporting or ticket-driven position. You will be a foundational analytics hire, instrumental in defining how key business and risk questions are measured and transforming ambiguous inquiries into robust, high-quality analytical systems. Your work will directly influence capital allocation, credit decisions, and growth strategy, offering a unique opportunity for end-to-end problem ownership.
  • • You will collaborate closely with the Risk team, encompassing credit, fraud, AML, and portfolio analytics, but your impact will resonate throughout the entire organization. This role is designed for an individual eager to operate with a senior level of ownership and judgment from the outset.
  • • Your core responsibilities will include designing, building, and owning essential analytical metrics and dashboards that will be utilized by leadership and operational teams. This involves translating complex business needs into clear, actionable data visualizations and reports.
  • • You will conduct in-depth analysis of transaction, customer, and credit data to inform strategic decisions across various domains, including credit risk assessment, fraud and AML prevention, portfolio performance optimization, unit economics, and overall business growth.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve building automations and data pipelines, primarily utilizing SQL and Python (or similar programming languages). This will streamline data processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure data reliability.
  • • You will partner closely with leaders in Risk, Product, Growth, Finance, and Compliance on high-impact initiatives. This collaborative approach ensures that data insights are integrated effectively into strategic planning and execution.
  • • A key challenge and opportunity will be to transform messy, ambiguous questions into clean data, clear metrics, and actionable insights. This requires strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate complexity.
  • • You will also perform and own critical compliance reporting activities for the Risk team, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This responsibility underscores the importance of accuracy and diligence in your work.
  • • We encourage an AI-first approach, leveraging Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to create practical applications and enhance analytical workflows. This forward-thinking methodology will be key to driving innovation and efficiency.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses an "AI-first" mindset, actively seeking opportunities to apply cutting-edge AI and LLM technologies to solve business problems and automate analytical tasks.
  • • You will be expected to take high ownership, proactively defining project specifications and driving them to completion without waiting for explicit direction, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to results.
  • • Your strong business judgment and inherent curiosity about how companies operate will be crucial in understanding the context behind data and deriving meaningful insights.
  • • Maintaining high standards for clarity, correctness, and simplicity in all analytical outputs is paramount. This ensures that insights are easily understood and trusted by stakeholders.
  • • While no prior fintech or credit experience is mandatory, you must demonstrate a clear ability and strong desire to quickly learn and master complex financial domains. This includes understanding the nuances of credit, fraud, and regulatory landscapes.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to build analytics infrastructure from the ground up within a fast-growing fintech environment, contributing significantly to the company's strategic direction and operational excellence.
  • • You will be instrumental in developing and refining the company's data strategy, ensuring that data is a core driver of decision-making and competitive advantage.
  • • The position demands a proactive approach to identifying analytical needs and proposing solutions, rather than passively responding to requests.
  • • You will gain invaluable experience in applied AI and LLM-driven analytics, contributing to the development of innovative solutions.
  • • This role is ideal for someone who thrives on tackling complex, ill-defined problems and enjoys building robust, scalable systems that deliver lasting value.
  • • Your work will have a tangible impact on the company's financial health and strategic growth, offering a rewarding career path in a dynamic industry.
  • • You will be part of a team that values technical excellence, real-world impact, and a collaborative, high-ownership culture.
  • • This is a full-time, permanent role at Parker, offering stability and the opportunity for long-term career development within a well-funded and rapidly expanding organization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Excellent command of SQL, with the ability to reason about query performance and optimize complex queries.
  • • Strong proficiency in Python or a similar programming language for data workflows, automation, and analysis.
  • • Solid understanding of data modeling principles, database schemas, and effective join strategies.
  • • Demonstrated ability to break down ambiguous problems, define key metrics, and build reliable, high-quality analytical outputs.
  • • High ownership mindset with a proactive approach to defining and executing tasks.
  • • Strong business judgment and curiosity about operational dynamics.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and equity (ESOP) in a fast-growing fintech company.
  • • A role with significant ownership, direct consequences, and the opportunity to shape critical business strategies.
  • • Direct exposure to credit strategy, risk management, capital allocation, and business/growth strategy.
  • • The chance to build analytics infrastructure from the early stages of a company.
  • • Opportunity to work on applied AI and LLM-driven analytics and automation.
  • • A steep growth curve with increasing scope and responsibility over time.
