Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end data pipeline for Quest’s flagship provider-network analytics products—ingesting multi-terabyte claims, provider-directory, and network-adequacy feeds, then cleansing, standardizing, and enriching them so every downstream analysis is trustworthy and audit-ready.
- • Design SQL/Python transformations in Databricks that surface network-performance KPIs (time-to-access, specialty distribution, geographic sufficiency, cost-of-care leakage) and automate recurring quality checks that flag anomalies before clients see them.
- • Partner with actuarial, network-management, and client-services teams to translate vague business questions (“Why are our cardiology networks shrinking in rural counties?”) into testable hypotheses, then hunt through billions of claim lines to quantify root causes and size financial impact.
- • Build interactive Power BI dashboards that let non-technical executives toggle between national, state, and county views, drill into provider-level detail, and export defensible evidence for regulatory filings—earning a reputation as the “go-to data storyteller” inside the company.
- • Prototype predictive models that forecast network-adequacy risk 6–12 months ahead of CMS audit cycles; present findings to VP-level stakeholders and see your recommendations become roadmap items that affect 90 % of U.S. covered lives.
- • Maintain a living data-dictionary and lineage documentation so analysts who join tomorrow can ramp in hours, not weeks; champion data-governance best practices that keep PHI secure and compliant with HIPAA, HITRUST, and emerging state privacy laws.
- • Continuously scan industry forums, CMS rule updates, and academic journals for new network-metrics or open-source libraries that could give Quest a competitive edge; run lunch-and-learn sessions to spread knowledge and raise the technical bar across the squad.
- • Support client-services escalations by jumping on calls with health-plan CIOs, walking them through discrepancies, and shipping ad-hoc analyses within 24 hours—turning potential contract cancellations into upsell opportunities.
- • Contribute to an agile, fast-moving culture: join sprint planning, estimate story points, demo new features every two weeks, and celebrate shipping code that shaves hours off analysts’ monthly close process.
- • Mentor junior analysts on advanced SQL window functions, Databricks optimization tricks, and visualization best practices—multiplying your impact while sharpening leadership skills.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2–3+ years hands-on data-analysis experience, including at least 1 year working with healthcare claims, provider, or eligibility datasets; fluency in SQL and either Python or PySpark.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline (equivalent experience considered).
- • Demonstrated ability to clean, join, and analyze multi-million-row relational datasets; deep understanding of data-quality dimensions (completeness, uniqueness, timeliness, validity).
- • Proficiency with Excel for rapid ad-hoc exploration and Power BI (or Tableau) for production dashboards; familiarity with version control (Git) and agile workflows.
- • Strong critical-thinking muscle: you instinctively ask “why,” chase anomalies to root cause, and translate technical findings into plain-English business recommendations.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Work-your-way flexibility: choose fully remote, hybrid, or in-office in Overland Park, KS—plus no-cap flexible vacation, sick time, and ten paid holidays so you can actually unplug.
- • 100 % company-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees; success-sharing bonus and competitive 401(k) match that rewards the revenue impact your analyses unlock.
- • Annual professional-development wallet (conferences, certs, books, or courses) and free LinkedIn Learning license so you can keep mastering new tools before the market demands them.
- • Mission you can brag about: your dashboards directly influence network expansions that reduce drive-time to cancer care, maternity services, and mental-health providers for millions of Americans.
