• As a Data Analyst, Onchain, you will be a key player in translating deep crypto knowledge and intuition into sophisticated data models and impactful dashboards that directly influence Kraken's product development and trading strategies.
• This role is for a true 'degen' – someone who is not only fluent in the intricacies of wallets, mempools, and market structure but also possesses the analytical prowess to leverage this understanding for data-driven decision-making.
• You will be instrumental in helping Kraken gain a comprehensive understanding of liquidity distribution, capital flows across the blockchain, and the identification of critical signals that inform upcoming trades, new product launches, and strategic market entries.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Trading, and other Data teams, to dissect and understand the entire onchain user journey, from their initial engagement with crypto to their long-term retention and activity.
• Develop, build, and meticulously maintain robust datasets that capture a wide spectrum of onchain activities, including detailed wallet interactions, dynamic liquidity movements, feature adoption rates, and diverse trading behaviors.
• Design and implement key metrics and intuitive dashboards using industry-standard tools like dbt and various Business Intelligence (BI) platforms, enabling clear visualization and tracking of trends in user growth, engagement levels, and overall trading activity.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of user funnels, Lifetime Value (LTV), and retention metrics, providing critical data-backed recommendations to shape product strategy and optimize the user experience across Kraken's platforms.
• Proactively investigate and interpret onchain signals, such as wallet clustering patterns, transaction flow analysis, and capital allocation strategies, to uncover and capitalize on emerging growth opportunities.
• Develop sophisticated frameworks and methodologies to accurately attribute trading performance and Return on Investment (ROI) across a variety of products, markets, and distinct user segments, providing clarity on what drives success.
• Work hand-in-hand with talented engineers to enhance and scale the onchain data pipelines, ensuring improved data quality, reliability, and accessibility for all stakeholders.
• Master the art of communication by translating complex blockchain data and intricate analytical findings into clear, concise, and visually compelling narratives that are easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences, driving informed action.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product or trading analytics, with a strong preference for experience within the cryptocurrency, fintech, or other highly data-driven trading environments.
• Demonstrated strong understanding of core onchain fundamentals, including but not limited to wallets, Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs), liquidity concepts, blockchain bridges, and various token mechanics.
• Proficiency in essential data analysis tools and languages, including advanced SQL for data querying and manipulation, Python (with libraries such as pandas, matplotlib, plotly) for data analysis and visualization, and dbt (data build tool) for data modeling and transformation.
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain intuitive dashboards and visualizations that effectively communicate complex analytical insights to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with various onchain data sources and platforms, such as Dune Analytics, Flipside Crypto, Nansen, direct API access, or blockchain subgraphs.
• A track record of successfully measuring user behavior and product health through key metrics like Lifetime Value (LTV), retention rates, funnel analysis, and engagement metrics.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate data insights and align them with product and trading strategies to drive consensus and action.
• A crypto-native mindset: demonstrating inherent curiosity, strong analytical capabilities, and a hands-on, practical approach to using and analyzing crypto tools and products.
