📋 Description

• As a Data Analyst, Product at Kraken.Com, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of cryptocurrency by providing critical data-driven insights to our Product team. You will operate at the intersection of data, product, and business strategy, transforming complex datasets into actionable intelligence that drives product innovation and growth.
• Your primary objective will be to elevate decision-making across the organization by identifying emerging trends, diagnosing root causes of product performance, and developing robust tools that offer complete visibility into how our products are performing and contributing to business growth.
• This role demands more than just technical prowess; it requires you to be a true business partner. You will combine your analytical expertise with strategic thinking to influence growth initiatives, guide product development, and deliver measurable impact.
• You will own the end-to-end data lifecycle for product analytics. This includes building and maintaining essential datasets and data pipelines, designing intuitive dashboards, and generating insightful reports tailored for the Product team and broader leadership.
• A significant part of your role will involve contributing to our experimentation infrastructure. You will collaborate with your team to launch and refine an A/B testing system, and participate in other experimental projects, ensuring the data team remains at the cutting edge of analytical capabilities.
• You will be directly involved in defining success metrics, both quantitatively and qualitatively, on a daily basis for our Product and leadership teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Act as a trusted business advisor, deeply understanding the business landscape to influence decision-making for the growth team and provide strategic recommendations.
• Take ownership of the design and implementation of dashboards, key metrics, and comprehensive reports. Your ability to translate raw data into actionable insights will be crucial for the growth team, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership.
• Dive deep into large, complex datasets and user logs to extract meaningful findings. You will then translate these findings into scalable data models that support ongoing reporting, advanced analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
• Lead and collaborate on cross-functional projects, working alongside analysts, data scientists, engineers, and product managers. This will involve building and optimizing data pipelines using tools like Airflow and Python, leveraging modern ETL frameworks.
• Be at the forefront of data innovation by actively experimenting with new approaches, testing hypotheses, and translating analytical insights into concrete actions that drive product improvement.
• Develop and automate the reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for various Kraken products, ensuring scalability and accuracy across the organization.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code for data pipelines and dashboards, adhering to software engineering best practices to ensure maintainability and efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis and data management within the financial services industry, ideally gained in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Hands-on experience trading derivatives (such as perpetuals, futures, or similar instruments) is required, whether gained professionally or through personal trading as a hobby or passion.
• Expert SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, and analytical functions, paired with familiarity in Python libraries such as pandas, matplotlib, and plotly.
• Experience working closely with product teams to analyze and optimize performance across the product funnel and related business metrics, ideally within a trading environment.
• Hands-on experience using dbt (data build tool) to model and organize marketing, product, or performance data for reporting and decision-making.
• Experience setting up and managing data pipelines, with a strong understanding of data workflow orchestration.
• Strong communicator who can simplify complex data ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A degree in a field emphasizing analytical rigor, such as software engineering, economics, or a hard science.
