📋 Description

• • As a Data Center Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer at OpenAI, you will design, validate, and scale cooling and mechanical systems for high-density AI data centers, enabling reliable and efficient operation of liquid-cooled GPU racks critical to next-generation AI infrastructure.
• • You will lead the development of thermal architectures, evaluate cooling equipment, define technical specifications, and drive testing and validation across design, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and operations phases, collaborating with cross-functional teams including hardware, electrical, facilities, and supply chain.
• • You will work within OpenAI’s Data Center Engineering team, which builds the infrastructure foundation for AI research and products, defining reference architectures and delivery standards for large-scale data centers supporting global AI innovation.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in mission-critical mechanical systems, influence the design of scalable liquid-cooled data centers, and contribute to the reliability and performance of AI infrastructure at hyperscale, while mentoring teams and advancing technical standards in thermal management and system integration.
