- • We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Data Center Operations Manager, specifically a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, to spearhead the operational excellence of our brand-new, cutting-edge data center located in Megalopoli, Arcadia, Greece. This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role for an engineer who possesses a deep understanding of and thrives within mission-critical environments. As the Data Center Operations Manager, you will assume ultimate responsibility for the entire physical infrastructure of the facility, ensuring uninterrupted 24/7 uptime, paramount safety, and peak operational efficiency. Your remit will encompass the complete ownership of the site's complex mechanical, cooling, and electrical systems. You will be instrumental in leading and mentoring a dedicated team of on-site technicians, meticulously defining and enforcing the rigorous operational standards that are fundamental to our collective success and the integrity of our operations.
- • Your core responsibilities will include taking complete and unequivocal ownership of the data center's physical infrastructure. This encompasses all mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. You will lead, guide, and coordinate a skilled team of on-site technicians, effectively managing 24/7 shift operations and cultivating a robust culture that prioritizes safety, precision, and continuous improvement. A critical aspect of your role will be the development and meticulous implementation of comprehensive operational procedures, proactive maintenance plans, and robust incident response protocols (including MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs) to ensure swift and effective action in all scenarios. You will be tasked with diligently overseeing the performance and capacity of all critical systems, leveraging data-driven insights to make informed decisions, optimize resource allocation, and proactively prevent any potential downtime.
- • Furthermore, you will serve as the lead incident commander during any facility emergencies, demonstrating decisive leadership and guiding the team towards a swift, effective, and safe resolution. You will also be responsible for managing and nurturing key relationships with external vendors, specialized contractors, and local utility providers, ensuring seamless collaboration and service delivery. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your extensive engineering expertise in a rapidly expanding and technologically advanced field, contributing directly to the future of AI and high-performance computing. You will be instrumental in shaping the operational landscape of a new, state-of-the-art facility from its inception, setting the benchmark for excellence in data center management within the region.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- • Minimum of 7 years of extensive, hands-on experience in a mission-critical operational environment (e.g., power plant, industrial facility, marine vessel engine room, or large-scale manufacturing).
- • Deep, specialized expertise in either industrial cooling systems (chillers, pumps, piping) OR high-availability electrical distribution systems (UPS, generators, switchgear).
- • Proven track record of successfully leading technical teams and managing 24/7 operations.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure.
- • Fluency in Greek and professional proficiency in English.
