Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • Apiphany Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Domain Specialist to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role serves as the crucial link between our clients' complex mechanical and manufacturing data and our internal processing and analytics teams. If you possess a deep understanding of mechanical and manufacturing principles and have a knack for translating technical data into actionable insights, this is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • As a Data Domain Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity, relevance, and accuracy of the data that fuels our innovative solutions. You will leverage your extensive industry experience to interpret, review, and guide the processing of client-provided mechanical and manufacturing-related datasets. This involves a thorough understanding of the nuances of data generated within Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and manufacturing organizations, from design specifications and production outputs to quality control metrics and supply chain information.
  • A core responsibility of this role is to act as the subject matter expert, providing essential context and guidance to our data processing and engineering teams. You will meticulously review incoming client data, identifying potential issues, inconsistencies, or areas requiring clarification. Your insights will be critical in determining the relevance and appropriate usage of this data, ensuring that it aligns with project objectives and client requirements. This proactive approach to data validation will prevent downstream errors and enhance the overall quality of our deliverables.
  • You will play a key role in defining and refining the guidelines for data tagging and classification. This involves developing standardized methodologies for categorizing and annotating data points, making them more accessible and useful for analysis and AI model training. Your expertise will shape how we structure and organize diverse datasets, ensuring consistency and enabling efficient data retrieval and utilization.
  • The role also entails a significant component of quality assurance. You will be responsible for reviewing the outputs of data processing activities, providing constructive feedback to the teams involved. This feedback loop is essential for continuous improvement, helping to correct inaccuracies, refine processing logic, and elevate the overall quality of the processed data. Your keen eye for detail and understanding of manufacturing processes will be invaluable in this capacity.
  • Furthermore, you will be called upon to assist during client discussions, offering domain-specific expertise to clarify data-related queries and build confidence in our data handling capabilities. This requires not only a strong technical background but also excellent communication skills to articulate complex data concepts in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Your work will directly influence the success of our data-driven products and services, ensuring that Apiphany Inc. consistently delivers high-quality, accurate, and relevant insights to our clients. This position offers a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between raw industrial data and advanced technological applications, contributing to cutting-edge projects within the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
  • We are looking for an individual who can not only understand the technical intricacies of mechanical and manufacturing data but can also apply a practical, results-oriented mindset to their work. The ability to make sound judgment calls regarding data relevance and quality is paramount. You will be an integral part of a collaborative team, working closely with engineers, data scientists, and project managers to achieve shared goals.
  • This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment, is adaptable, and possesses a strong desire to learn and contribute to a growing company. If you are passionate about data, possess deep industry knowledge, and are eager to apply your expertise in a challenging and rewarding setting, we encourage you to apply.

🎯 Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or electronics engineering roles within OEMs or manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and manufacturing concepts, including design, production, quality control, and supply chain processes.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical data and explain complex concepts clearly to non-domain teams.
  • Experience with reviewing, validating, or tagging data, with a focus on industrial or engineering datasets.
  • Strong domain fundamentals with a practical, problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

🏖️ Benefits

  • Opportunity to work in a fast-moving, innovative startup environment.
  • Remote work flexibility, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
  • Direct impact on the quality and success of data-driven products and services.
  • Collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge data analytics and AI applications within the manufacturing sector.
  • Continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
