- • Join Methods Analytics (MA) as a Data Engineer on a permanent basis, contributing to a dynamic team focused on transforming raw data into powerful, actionable insights. This role offers the flexibility of predominantly remote work, with occasional travel required to client sites and our offices located in London, Sheffield, and Bristol, fostering a blend of autonomy and collaborative engagement.
- • You will be instrumental in collaborating closely with a diverse range of cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data scientists, and project managers. A key aspect of your role will involve translating complex technical data concepts and solutions into clear, accessible language, ensuring that non-technical stakeholders can fully understand and leverage the insights derived from data.
- • Immerse yourself in innovative projects, working alongside a dynamic delivery team to architect and implement cutting-edge data solutions. Your primary focus will be on transforming raw, often unstructured, data into structured, meaningful information that drives strategic business decisions.
- • Design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines. You will leverage modern data engineering tools and technologies, including Python for scripting and data manipulation, SQL for database querying and management, and Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling, ensuring robust and automated data processing.
- • Build and maintain robust, scalable data solutions, primarily utilizing leading cloud platforms and technologies. This includes working with services from providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP, to create flexible and performant data infrastructures that can adapt to evolving business needs and data volumes.
- • Develop and maintain sophisticated data models, employing established dimensional modelling techniques such as star schemas and snowflake schemas. These models will be crucial for supporting comprehensive data analysis, business intelligence reporting, and ad-hoc querying, providing a structured foundation for understanding business performance.
- • Champion and implement best practices in data governance, data security, and regulatory compliance. Your efforts will be critical in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive data, ensuring adherence to industry standards and legal requirements.
- • Ensure the highest standards of data quality through rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) processes. This involves developing and executing test cases, monitoring data accuracy, and continuously refining and optimising data queries and pipeline logic to eliminate errors and inconsistencies.
- • Develop and deploy intuitive, user-friendly dashboards and reports that provide clear, actionable insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You will work with BI tools to visualize data effectively, enabling business leaders to make informed decisions with confidence.
- • Proactively monitor and tune the performance of data solutions and pipelines. Your focus will be on enhancing the reliability, speed, and overall functionality of data systems, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations to ensure efficient data delivery.
- • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies in the data engineering landscape. This involves continuous learning and skill enhancement, exploring and adopting the latest data engineering tools, techniques, and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge.
- • Actively contribute to the growth and development of the Methods Analytics Engineering Practice. Participate in our internal community of practice, sharing knowledge, mentoring junior colleagues, and collaborating on internal initiatives to elevate the team's collective expertise.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering tools and languages (e.g., Python, SQL).
- • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated data services.
- • Familiarity with data modelling techniques (e.g., dimensional modelling) and database design principles.
- • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
