• In this role, you will be instrumental in building and growing our data capabilities. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our data infrastructure. Your work will directly impact our ability to derive actionable insights, drive data-informed decision-making across the organization, and ultimately enhance the financial services we provide to our global customer base.
• You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions. This involves identifying data sources, defining data models, implementing ETL/ELT processes, and ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle. Your expertise will be crucial in transforming raw data into valuable assets that fuel our growth and strategic initiatives.
• Key responsibilities will include developing and optimizing data ingestion processes from various sources, including transactional systems, APIs, and third-party data providers. You will build and maintain scalable data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval. Furthermore, you will implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of our data, addressing any discrepancies proactively.
• You will also be involved in designing and implementing data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. This includes managing data access, security, and privacy. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for data infrastructure improvements, performance tuning, and the adoption of new technologies to enhance our data capabilities.
• Contributing to the development of our data strategy and roadmap will be an integral part of your role. You will work on projects that support business objectives, such as enhancing customer analytics, optimizing operational efficiency, and developing new data-driven products and services. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences will be essential for fostering a data-literate culture within Mama Money.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks).
• Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) and data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink).
• Strong understanding of data quality, data governance, and data security principles.
