📋 Description
- • As a Data Engineer (Python) at Orcrist Technologies Inc., you will play a critical role in rapidly validating new data initiatives end-to-end by prototyping connectors and pipelines that power mission-critical search, ML enrichment, and investigative workflows for customers using the Orcrist Intelligence Platform (OIP). Your work ensures that innovative data solutions are not only technically sound but also adoptable by product teams.
- • Day to day, you will prototype ingestion and connector patterns using NiFi, Kafka, Kafka Connect/Streams, and CDC; design prototype-grade but adoptable schemas and data models; build incremental lakehouse datasets using Hudi/Iceberg/Delta patterns; implement data quality and provenance checks; containerize and deploy prototypes on Kubernetes; and produce adoption artifacts such as schemas, reference implementations, technical design notes, and integration backlogs.
- • Orcrist Technologies builds the Orcrist Intelligence Platform (OIP), a Kubernetes-based data intelligence system delivered as SaaS or self-hosted/on-prem (including air-gapped deployments), serving mission-critical customers with streaming and batch pipelines that enable search, ML enrichment, and investigative workflows.
- • In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with a modern data stack in real-world constrained environments, see your prototypes become reusable blueprints across teams, and develop expertise in streaming, lakehouse architectures, Kubernetes deployment, and data productization — positioning you at the forefront of enterprise data innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years data engineering experience with real pipeline delivery beyond ad-hoc scripts
- • Strong Python + SQL skills for building transformations, validation tooling, and pipeline glue code
- • Practical streaming/CDC fundamentals and Kafka ecosystem experience
- • Familiarity with lakehouse/storage and query layers (e.g., Hudi/Iceberg/Delta, Trino/Hive/Postgres)
- • Comfortable working in Kubernetes/container environments and documenting decisions clearly
- • Eligible to work in Germany; EU/NATO citizenship preferred due to export-control screening
