📋 Description

• As the inaugural Principal Solutions Architect at Nexus Cognitive LLC, you will be embedded full-time within one of the largest financial institutions in the United States, serving as the daily technical authority on the deployment and integration of the NexusOne (NX1) platform across their data infrastructure.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will include holding design authority in architecture review boards, security reviews, and data governance forums; designing and defending integration architectures involving identity federation, CDC patterns, governance metadata, data lineage, network segmentation, and encryption; identifying upcoming workloads the customer’s architecture is ready for before they are articulated; producing defensible design documents for hostile review boards; and serving as the technical escalation point for deployment issues.
• You will operate within a fast-growing, AI-native data platform company headquartered in Atlanta with over 100 employees across the US and India, backed by Insight Partners, and processing mission-critical data for major enterprises including a Top 3 US bank and Africa’s largest telco.
• In this role, you will shape the definition of ‘Principal Solutions Architect’ at Nexus Cognitive, deepen your expertise in regulated enterprise environments, drive expansion opportunities through technical insight, and strengthen your ability to bridge deep technical work with executive-level engagement and commercial handoff.

🎯 Requirements

• 12–18 years in enterprise data/cloud architecture as a solutions architect, principal engineer, or equivalent role
• At least one prior multi-year embedded engagement (12+ months) at a Tier 1 bank or equivalent regulated enterprise
• Hands-on or recent hands-on depth in the modern open-source data stack: Spark, Trino, Airflow, Iceberg, Kubernetes, S3-compatible object storage, Kafka — at petabyte scale with hundreds of pipelines
• Experience producing and defending design documents in front of hostile architecture review boards
• Track record of identifying expansion or net-new use cases through architectural insight at a large customer, with named examples of anticipating customer workloads before they were articulated
• Willingness to be on-site at the customer in Charlotte, NC (primary) and NYC (secondary) at 80%+ cadence
• Deep familiarity with bank IT culture and governance: risk and control frameworks, TPRM, change management, audit cycles, and regulatory reporting patterns
