  • • The Data Practice Director is a senior leadership role within Caylent’s Cloud Data Engineering (CDE) practice, responsible for operationalizing practice strategy, leading a team of data professionals, and owning delivery excellence across client engagements. This role bridges strategic direction and day-to-day execution to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes while scaling to meet growth targets.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include owning end-to-end delivery oversight for data engineering and analytics engagements, driving operational rigor (utilization, staffing, margin tracking), developing delivery standards and frameworks, serving as an escalation point for technical and client issues, and partnering with the Practice Leader to translate strategy into quarterly priorities and team-level OKRs.
  • • The role involves directly leading and developing a team of data engineers, architects, and analytics professionals across a globally distributed team, setting performance expectations, conducting reviews, providing coaching, partnering with recruiting on talent gaps and onboarding, and fostering a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and technical excellence while identifying and developing emerging leaders.
  • • The Data Practice Director builds trusted advisor relationships with key client stakeholders, acts as a senior point of contact for delivery and strategic guidance, partners with sales and GTM teams on business development activities, identifies expansion opportunities within client engagements, and represents Caylent credibly in director- and VP-level client conversations.
  • • The role contributes to practice growth by collaborating on go-to-market positioning and service offering development, contributing to thought leadership (whitepapers, webinars, conferences), staying current on modern data ecosystem trends, and supporting the development of practice IP such as accelerators, reference architectures, and reusable solution components.
  • • Caylent is a cloud-native services company specializing in AWS, helping organizations maximize the value of their people and technology through services including workload migrations, cloud-native application development, DevOps, data engineering, security, and compliance. The company operates fully remote with employees in Canada, the United States, and Latin America, prioritizing people-first culture, technological curiosity, and inclusive community.
  • • In this role, the individual can achieve significant impact by scaling a high-performing data practice, driving client success and expansion, shaping service offerings and thought leadership, developing emerging leaders, and contributing to Caylent’s growth as a leader in AWS-based data engineering and analytics services.
