Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the core quantitative engine that powers Neon’s consumer-data marketplace. You will architect payout formulas that balance user delight with data quality, ensuring every dollar we send to users is backed by rigorous math and transparent logic.
- • Design and iterate on fraud-detection models that protect the integrity of our platform. From spotting synthetic accounts to flagging suspicious device farms, you will build automated systems that scale to hundreds of thousands of users without adding friction for legitimate participants.
- • Partner daily with product managers, engineers, and designers to translate ambiguous questions—“How do we keep users engaged for 90 days?” or “What data is most valuable to AI labs?”—into concrete hypotheses, experiments, and dashboards that ship in days, not quarters.
- • Curate high-value datasets that are purchased by the world’s leading AI labs. You will define data-quality SLAs, build labeling pipelines, and create sampling strategies that ensure our partners receive gold-standard training data while preserving user privacy.
- • Build self-service analytics tools that democratize data across the company. Whether it’s a Looker board that shows real-time cohort LTV or a Python notebook that predicts next month’s revenue, you will enable every teammate to answer their own questions without opening a ticket.
- • Run A/B and multivariate tests that move core metrics: activation rate, weekly active users, average revenue per user, and data completeness. You will design experiments end-to-end—sample size calculations, statistical power, and post-hoc segmentation—then present actionable recommendations to founders and investors.
- • Translate complex findings into crisp narratives. One day you’ll explain to engineers why a new payout curve reduced churn by 12%; the next day you’ll pitch a Fortune 500 AI lab on why our geolocation dataset beats the competition by 18% on downstream model accuracy.
- • Maintain a relentless bias for speed. We celebrate scrappy prototypes that deliver 80% of the value in 20% of the time. You’ll push code to production behind feature flags, gather user feedback within hours, and decide whether to double-down or pivot before the sprint ends.
- • Champion ethical data use. You will audit our pipelines for demographic bias, ensure differential privacy techniques are correctly applied, and publish internal white-papers that set industry standards for responsible monetization of consumer data.
- • Contribute to our data culture. Host weekly “Data Deep-Dives,” mentor junior analysts, and maintain our dbt repo so that every SQL model is documented, tested, and version-controlled. Your work will set the tone as we scale from a 30-person startup to a category-defining company.
🎯 Requirements
- • Authorization to work in the US
- • 3–6 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative product roles
- • Expert-level SQL and Python; can write production-grade code and optimize queries on 100M+ row datasets
- • Demonstrated ability to ship quickly in ambiguous, 0-to-1 environments without heavy process
- • Strong product intuition—history of translating model outputs into user-facing features that move business metrics
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote team with flexible hours and quarterly in-person offsites in destinations like Tulum and Lisbon
- • Competitive salary plus meaningful equity in a fast-growing, Lightspeed-backed startup
- • $2,000 annual learning stipend for courses, conferences, or certifications
- • Premium health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents, 100% company-paid
