đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Data Scientist at Deel, you will join a rapidly expanding Data Science team within a global leader in payroll and HR technology, where your work will directly contribute to unlocking global opportunity for millions of workers across 150+ countries by transforming complex salary and workforce data into actionable insights that drive product innovation and business decisions.
  • • You will solve real-world problems using advanced statistical techniques and machine learning, focusing on large-scale salary data groupings to build end-to-end data and ML pipelines that are production-ready, with over 90% of the team’s work deployed to production each quarter—ensuring your research delivers tangible, measurable impact.
  • • Day to day, you will design, build, and maintain robust data sets; perform data cleaning and modeling; conduct feature engineering and extraction; develop and deploy machine learning models; apply software engineering best practices to research code; collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to deliver algorithmic solutions; and produce reproducible, high-quality research and clean, maintainable code that scales across internal and external customer use cases.
  • • You will work within a highly distributed, innovative team of 7,000+ employees spanning 100+ countries and 74 languages, where Deel’s culture of continuous learning, diversity, and inclusion fosters an environment where your expertise in data science will be valued, challenged, and amplified through cross-functional collaboration on mission-critical global work infrastructure.
  • • In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the direction of Deel’s evolving Data Science practices—defining data pipeline architectures, selecting statistical and ML techniques, and influencing tooling choices—while accelerating your career by tackling high-impact problems that affect global workforce equity, compliance, and scalability at a company backed by a $17.3B valuation and $1B ARR.

🎯 Requirements

  • • High proficiency in Python and its data science stack, including Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn, with hands-on experience in data manipulation and analysis.
  • • 3+ years of experience in data/backend engineering or software engineering in production environments, with strong skills in SQL for querying and managing relational databases.
  • • 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing research and algorithms in Python, specifically in NLP, text processing, information retrieval, and machine learning domains.
  • • Proven track record of communicating complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with strong collaboration skills across diverse, global teams.
  • • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • • Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter, applying statistical methods rigorously to solve ambiguous problems and drive end-to-end ML pipeline development from data ingestion to production deployment.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Stock grant opportunities tied to role, employment status, and location, allowing you to share in Deel’s long-term success and growth.
  • • Flexible remote work model with optional access to WeWork spaces, supporting work-life balance and productivity from anywhere in Spain or globally.
  • • Additional perks and benefits customized by employment status and country, reflecting Deel’s commitment to inclusive, scalable total rewards for its global workforce.
