Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Data Scientist at Agile Defense, you will play a critical role in advancing national security missions by designing and deploying AI-enabled data solutions for the Department of Defense’s CDAO ADA IR program at USSPACECOM, directly contributing to mission-critical decision-making in secure, high-stakes environments.
- • You will transform raw data into actionable intelligence by building scalable data pipelines, developing and operationalizing machine learning models, and communicating insights to stakeholders—ensuring that advanced analytics are reliably integrated into operational workflows that support U.S. space and defense operations.
- • You will collaborate daily with product managers, full-stack developers, platform engineers, and mission stakeholders in an agile, multidisciplinary team focused on reproducibility, continuous delivery, and secure integration of data science services into production environments.
- • Your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining reusable data ingestion, transformation, and feature engineering services; developing and deploying ML models for anomaly detection, classification, and prediction; conducting exploratory data analysis; and creating visualizations and narratives that drive mission impact.
- • You will ensure all work adheres to DoD security standards, CI/CD practices, and containerized deployment protocols using tools like Docker, Terraform, Databricks, and AWS-native services, while maintaining rigorous documentation for auditability and handoff.
- • You will participate in agile ceremonies—sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos—advocating for data-driven priorities and translating technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- • This role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in MLOps, secure cloud architectures, and defense-specific data challenges while contributing to a library of reusable analytics templates and workflows that accelerate future mission delivery.
- • You will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost, MLflow), distributed computing (Spark, PySpark), and API development, all within the context of high-impact national security projects.
- • By working at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and mission operations, you will develop a rare hybrid skill set that bridges analytical rigor with operational execution in one of the nation’s most advanced defense technology environments.
🎯 Requirements
- • Active DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship are mandatory for this role.
- • 4+ years of applied experience in data science, machine learning engineering, or data pipeline development.
- • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed data frameworks such as Spark, Databricks, or PySpark.
- • Experience developing and deploying ML models using industry-standard tools (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost, MLflow) from training to production.
- • Familiarity with MLOps practices, API development, and secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Palantir Foundry).
- • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical projects supporting U.S. space and defense operations at Peterson Space Force Base.
- • Collaboration with elite multidisciplinary teams in an agile, innovation-driven culture that values speed, flexibility, and technical excellence.
- • Access to cutting-edge tools and platforms including Databricks, Docker, Terraform, AWS, and MLflow within secure, containerized environments.
- • Professional growth through hands-on experience in MLOps, API development, and secure cloud-native data solutions.
- • Contribution to a shared library of reusable analytics templates, queries, and workflows that accelerate future mission delivery.
- • Engagement in agile ceremonies that promote transparency, continuous improvement, and technical accountability.
