Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Data Scientist at Lingaro Group, you will play a pivotal role in transforming complex business challenges into data-driven solutions by leading end-to-end machine learning projects that directly impact forecasting accuracy, customer retention, and operational efficiency across global clients.
  • • Your work will bridge technical expertise and business strategy, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions through rigorous analysis, interpretable models, and actionable insights delivered via clear reporting and collaborative implementation.
  • • You will engage in the full lifecycle of data science projects—from problem definition and data exploration to model development, validation, and deployment support—ensuring solutions are not only statistically sound but also aligned with real-world KPIs such as demand forecast error reduction or churn prediction lift.
  • • Day to day, you will clean and preprocess structured and time-series data, conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and data quality issues, and engineer meaningful features that improve model performance for classification and regression tasks.
  • • You will train, tune, and evaluate a range of machine learning models including logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting (XGBoost, LightGBM), and classical time-series methods (ARIMA, Exponential Smoothing), applying appropriate validation techniques to avoid overfitting and ensure generalization.
  • • You will assess model performance using business-relevant metrics (e.g., MAPE, precision-recall, F1-score) and translate results into clear, visual narratives using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Power BI to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • • You will collaborate closely with data engineers to build scalable data pipelines and with AI/ML engineers to support model deployment via batch scoring pipelines, REST APIs, or cloud-based monitoring dashboards, ensuring reproducibility through version-controlled notebooks and documentation.
  • • You will actively participate in requirement gathering sessions with business stakeholders, translating vague objectives into well-defined technical goals, success criteria, and project timelines while auditing data feasibility and identifying potential risks early.
  • • For senior-level contributors, you will support pre-sales activities by scoping opportunities, estimating effort, and contributing to proposal development that showcases Lingaro’s analytical capabilities.
  • • You will continuously refine your approach by staying current with emerging techniques, documenting experiments rigorously, and contributing to internal knowledge sharing through wikis, tech talks, or mentorship.
  • • The Data Science team at Lingaro operates at the intersection of consulting and advanced analytics, serving Fortune 500 clients across industries such as retail, CPG, finance, and manufacturing with a focus on delivering measurable business impact through innovative, scalable solutions.
  • • Lingaro fosters a culture of technical excellence and curiosity, where data scientists are encouraged to push boundaries, experiment with new methodologies, and grow into thought leaders who not only build models but also shape how data drives strategy.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in applied machine learning, gain hands-on experience with enterprise-grade cloud platforms (Databricks, Azure, or GCP), and strengthen your ability to communicate complex analytical concepts with clarity and influence.
  • • You will achieve mastery in translating ambiguous business problems into structured analytics workflows, building end-to-end solutions that are trusted by decision-makers, and advancing your career toward senior data science or AI consulting roles within a globally recognized analytics firm.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Commercial experience with classical machine learning models including logistic regression, decision trees, ensemble methods (e.g., random forest, gradient boosting), and classical time-series forecasting techniques.
  • • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, modeling, and visualization, along with working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and transformation.
  • • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: Databricks, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure, including use of managed services for data processing or model training.
  • • Strong understanding of feature engineering, model validation frameworks (e.g., cross-validation, temporal split), and hyperparameter tuning to optimize model performance and generalization.
  • • Proven ability to gather business requirements, define success metrics aligned with KPIs, and translate analytical findings into clear, actionable reports and visualizations for stakeholders.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to work on high-impact, end-to-end data science projects for global Fortune 500 clients across diverse industries, gaining exposure to real-world business challenges at scale.
  • • Access to modern cloud-based analytics infrastructure (Databricks, Azure, GCP) and industry-standard ML tools and libraries to build, test, and deploy models efficiently.
  • • Collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment with senior data scientists and AI engineers, fostering mentorship, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning in advanced ML techniques.
  • • Clear path for professional growth into senior consultant or lead data scientist roles, supported by involvement in pre-sales, client-facing presentations, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • • Flexible work arrangements and commitment to work-life balance, with emphasis on output and impact rather than rigid schedules, enabling sustainable high performance.
