• • We are seeking a passionate and driven Data Scientist II to join our Platform Data Science team, a critical component of Coinbase's product development and decision-making processes.
• • This role offers a unique opportunity to partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to enhance core systems and user journeys across vital areas such as Payments, Risk & Trust, Identity & Onboarding, Compliance, Customer Support, and Experimentation.
• • As a Data Scientist II on the Platform team, you will tackle high-impact, cross-functional challenges aimed at making Coinbase safer, more reliable, and user-friendly.
• • Your work will directly contribute to unlocking growth through improved decision-making and robust measurement frameworks.
• • You will be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving funnel drop-offs and reliability issues within critical user journeys, including onboarding, payments, and authentication processes.
• • A key responsibility will be designing and implementing north star, guardrail, and diagnostic metric systems to provide clear visibility into platform performance.
• • You will also be responsible for running and refining experimentation and causal inference approaches, including A/B tests, quasi-experiments, and incrementality measurement, to drive data-informed product enhancements.
• • Perform in-depth analyses on various products to answer complex, open-ended questions, providing strategic recommendations that shape product direction and business strategy.
• • Design and guide rigorous experiments and analyses to accurately measure the impact of product changes and initiatives, directly influencing product improvements.
• • Develop, maintain, and enhance key metrics and reports, ensuring they accurately reflect platform health and user engagement.
• • Contribute to improving data infrastructure, making it more robust and efficient for advanced analysis and reporting.
• • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure data quality, accessibility, and the development of scalable data solutions.
• • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights and compelling narratives for diverse stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and leadership.
• • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and experimentation techniques, and apply them to solve challenging problems at Coinbase.
• • Foster a data-driven culture by evangelizing best practices in experimentation, causal inference, and data analysis across the organization.
• • Contribute to the growth and development of the Data Science team through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
