- • As a Data Scientist at Progressive Leasing LLC, you will play a critical role in advancing the company’s mission by building and refining predictive models and decision systems that directly impact business performance in the fast-growing FinTech and lease-to-own industry. Your work will drive data-informed strategies that enhance customer experience, optimize financial products, and support scalable innovation across Progressive Leasing’s core operations.
- • Day to day, you will build, maintain, and improve decision systems and predictive models that are key to Progressive Leasing’s competitive advantage; explore new internal and external data sources to enhance model performance; design, implement, and analyze in-market experiments testing new algorithms, technologies, and processes; prototype solutions to business problems using cutting-edge technologies; recommend and support strategic changes through rigorous analytics and creative problem solving; identify, evaluate, and help implement advanced analytics methods; and collaborate as part of a collegial team of like-minded data scientists.
- • You will join an entrepreneurial, high-ownership team within Progressive Leasing, a subsidiary of PROG Holdings (NYSE: PRG), which operates three FinTech business segments: Progressive Leasing (in-store and e-commerce lease-to-own), Purchasing Power (employee purchase programs via payroll deduction), and Four (a Buy Now Pay Later platform). The team values data-driven decision making, deliberate execution, and real-world impact, fostering a culture where innovation is grounded in analysis and ownership.
- • In this role, you will develop a profound understanding of the company’s customers, products, and financials by analyzing the data that describes each element. You will have the opportunity to develop your own tools and technologies, stay at the forefront of a rapidly evolving field, and grow your expertise in machine learning, data mining, and software engineering while contributing to meaningful business outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of professional experience in data science or a related analytical role
- • Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science
- • Experience with R, Python, machine learning tools, and SQL
- • Evidence of applying advanced models to real-world problems
- • Ability to craft rigorous research and evaluation designs
