- • Serve as Regional Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for end-to-end management of enterprise-critical and local database platforms across multiple sites in the region, with primary focus on Jabil Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- • Monitor, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and AWS Redshift environments, both on-premises and cloud-hosted, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability in alignment with SLA requirements.
- • Design, implement, and manage database maintenance jobs including backup, restore, patching, indexing, and housekeeping tasks to ensure operational stability.
- • Establish and enforce data lifecycle policies, including data archiving and purging processes to optimize storage and compliance.
- • Proactively identify and implement automation and standardization opportunities to improve operational efficiency through scripting (PowerShell, Bash, SQL, Python) and tooling.
- • Optimize database performance by analyzing and tuning SQL queries, refining index strategies, and resolving resource bottlenecks in high-load production environments.
- • Act as the subject-matter expert for MES databases, collaborating with application and MES teams to optimize complex queries, support application changes, prevent production incidents, and review database modifications.
- • Ensure database security compliance, lead database updates and migrations, and maintain adherence to corporate IT standards and audit requirements.
- • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support team scalability and continuity.
- • Partner with product teams throughout the SDLC to influence database design, ensuring scalability and performance from inception.
- • Maintain database projects in Git repositories and build and sustain CI/CD pipelines for automated database deployments.
- • Actively participate in Incident Management and Problem Management processes within defined IT SLA frameworks to minimize downtime and resolve root causes.
- • Support capacity planning and growth forecasting by analyzing usage trends and projecting resource needs for future database demands.
- • Work collaboratively across regional and global IT teams, engaging with diverse cultural and operational environments to deliver consistent database services.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments
- • Proven hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and AWS Redshift
- • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting mission-critical production systems
- • Solid understanding of SQL query optimization, database design, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies
- • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
