📋 Description

• Monad Foundation, a pivotal contributor to the Monad protocol, is actively seeking a highly skilled and execution-oriented DeFi Specialist to become the operational linchpin for driving decentralized finance (DeFi) growth across the Monad network.
• This is a hands-on role demanding an encyclopedic understanding of DeFi protocols, a discerning eye for asset quality, and exceptional coordination capabilities to guide new protocols and assets from initial discussions through to live, liquid market integration.
• You will be instrumental in empowering builders deploying on the Monad network, offering expert advice on protocol mechanics, identifying critical product gaps, and collaborating closely to enhance their offerings.
• A key responsibility will be evaluating and prioritizing which assets are most suitable for integration into the ecosystem, meticulously assessing potential risks associated with each.
• Your role will involve intricate coordination with various ecosystem participants, including oracle providers, liquidators, decentralized exchange (DEX) liquidity pools, curators, and bridge solutions, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new protocols and assets.
• You will maintain a real-time, comprehensive overview of the DeFi landscape on the Monad network, proactively identifying challenges and recommending strategic allocations of time and incentives to maximize impact.
• The ideal candidate possesses the ability to quickly analyze and provide sharp, actionable feedback on any unfamiliar DeFi protocol frontend within a short timeframe, demonstrating a deep and intuitive grasp of protocol dynamics.
• You will provide succinct, impactful feedback to DeFi builders on the Monad network, covering aspects of protocol design, user experience (UX), market positioning, and identifying competitive advantages or disadvantages.
• You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of onboarding new protocols and assets, orchestrating the efforts of oracle providers, liquidation infrastructure, DEX liquidity provisioning, curator services, and bridging technology providers to successfully launch new markets.
• Your prioritization of assets for the Monad network will be driven by a combination of market demand, potential for composability within the ecosystem, and a rigorous, data-driven risk assessment process.
• You will conduct in-depth research on new assets, critically evaluating their bridging mechanisms, relative interest rate dynamics, liquidity depth, redemption windows, transparency of reserves, and the controls exercised by issuers.
• Continuous monitoring of the DeFi ecosystem on the Monad network is essential to identify and flag any emerging gaps, market imbalances, or operational inefficiencies.
• Based on your analysis, you will recommend strategic deployment of resources, including time and incentive programs, to effectively address identified ecosystem-level challenges and foster sustainable growth.
• You will contribute to the development of incentive strategies by providing well-reasoned opinions on the types of programs that attract durable Total Value Locked (TVL) relative to expenditure, distinguishing them from those that attract transient, mercenary capital.
• Your ultimate objective will be to substantially grow the DeFi ecosystem on the Monad network, with key performance indicators including increases in TVL, trading volume, stablecoin market capitalization, Real World Asset (RWA) market capitalization, and generated fees.

🎯 Requirements

• Encyclopedic knowledge of DeFi protocols, including the ability to explain value flows in leading lending protocols (e.g., Aave, Morpho, Euler), the mechanics of successful or failed CDPs, DEXs, or yield-bearing stablecoins, and the critical success factors for various protocol categories.
• Strong, well-informed opinions on asset quality, with a keen understanding of interest-bearing assets, stablecoins, and RWAs, including awareness of prevailing market sentiment and the ability to independently assess new assets for strengths and potential risks.
• Exceptional operational rigor and the ability to manage complex coordination chains for onboarding new protocols or assets, encompassing oracles, liquidation infrastructure, DEX liquidity, curators, and bridges, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
• Sharp, intuitive understanding of DeFi protocol mechanics, enabling rapid identification of strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement from frontends or documentation, providing specific and actionable advice.
• Opinionated and data-driven framework for evaluating the efficiency of growth and incentive programs, distinguishing between those that foster sustainable growth (flywheels) and those that attract short-term capital, with the ability to defend this framework with evidence.
• Strong communication skills, capable of delivering concise, high-signal analysis and recommendations, building trust with builders and internal stakeholders through transparent and well-supported reasoning.
