Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the end-to-end delivery of custom software projects for clients, owning the path from plan to production with full accountability for timelines, quality, and outcomes.
- • Run and adapt agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid models), facilitating ceremonies and ensuring teams maintain consistent rhythm and momentum.
- • Proactively identify, surface, and resolve blockers—both within the team and across external dependencies—to keep delivery flowing without disruption.
- • Build and protect the health of cross-functional engineering teams, fostering an environment where engineers can focus, innovate, and do their best work.
- • Serve as the primary client-facing delivery contact, building trusted relationships, managing expectations transparently, and ensuring clients remain confident in progress and outcomes.
- • Translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly communicating trade-offs, risks, and intent to both engineers and clients.
- • Manage scope, capacity, planning, and dependencies across one or more concurrent client engagements, ensuring alignment with resource availability and commercial constraints.
- • Own delivery governance by maintaining a live RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), reporting progress and confidence levels with clarity and precision.
- • Hold the quality bar alongside engineering teams, ensuring reliable, consistent delivery even under pressure or shifting priorities.
- • Monitor cost versus value throughout delivery, flagging commercial implications early and working within agreed budgets to protect profitability and client trust.
- • Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices across the team and wider practice, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
- • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and clients in an embedded, hands-on role—not from a distance—ensuring alignment and shared ownership of outcomes.
- • Use delivery tooling such as Jira and Confluence to track progress, document decisions, and maintain transparency across teams and clients.
- • Maintain technical literacy to engage credibly with engineers on design decisions, architecture trade-offs, and delivery risks without being a hands-on developer.
- • Balance client needs with team capacity and technical feasibility, making pragmatic decisions that uphold quality while delivering value on time.
- • Act as the central point of coordination between internal teams and external clients, ensuring clear communication, aligned priorities, and mutual accountability.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years delivering software or technology projects in agile environments with a proven track record of on-time, high-quality delivery
- • Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional engineering teams, including coaching or line-management responsibilities
- • Strong grounding in agile and lean practices with the judgment to adapt methods to team and context, not apply them rigidly
- • Technical literacy to engage credibly with engineers on design, architecture, and delivery risks
- • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder-management skills, including the confidence to have honest conversations and hold the line on scope and quality
- • Solid command of delivery governance, planning, RAID management, dependency tracking, and clear progress reporting
🏖️ Benefits
- • Discretionary annual performance bonus based on impact and contribution
- • Flexible working arrangements and summer hours
- • Highly competitive pension scheme with generous employer contributions, private healthcare, and life assurance
- • Employee Assistance Programme, mental health support, cycle-to-work scheme, and regular social events
- • 35 days holiday, enhanced maternity pay, and family-first policies
- • Investment in professional development through courses and certifications
