đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Design Coordinator at Homebound, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in transforming the residential construction industry by supporting the seamless delivery of beautiful, cohesive design packages that empower customers to build their dream homes online—contributing directly to the company’s mission of making homebuilding accessible, efficient, and technology-driven across multiple markets.
  • • You will be an essential operational backbone for the Design + Operations team, ensuring that design studios across Dallas, Houston, and Tampa are fully equipped, organized, and aligned with brand standards, enabling designers and trade partners to deliver exceptional client experiences through accurate, timely, and visually compelling design support.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing sample orders, maintaining physical and digital sample displays, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely receipt and organization of materials for client presentations and design packages.
  • • You will assist in data entry, document management, and meeting coordination while identifying opportunities to streamline processes—such as improving sample tracking systems or reducing turnaround time for material requests—thereby increasing team efficiency and reducing administrative friction.
  • • You will maintain organized and current project files and support the upkeep of the Homebound Product Catalog by sourcing materials, adding new products to the digital catalog, and ensuring finish schedules and personalization options are accurately reflected.
  • • You will assist designers by redlining interior drawings—including cabinet shop drawings, interior elevations, and flooring diagrams—using Bluebeam (preferred), and create mood boards and inspirational imagery in Photoshop or InDesign to align with design package direction and communicate vision clearly.
  • • You will participate in rendering reviews, provide redlines and feedback to ensure design intent is accurately captured, and collaborate with architecture and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies before production.
  • • You may travel periodically to support the setup, maintenance, and refresh of Design Studios in new or existing markets, ensuring brand consistency and operational readiness across locations.
  • • You will partner with the Director of Design + Operations to track and meet key performance metrics tied to Design Studio outcomes, helping establish and uphold performance standards, goals, and deadlines that drive continuous improvement and accountability.
  • • You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Operations, Architecture, Procurement, Sales, and trade partners, fostering collaboration and ensuring that design execution aligns with client expectations, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
  • • You will contribute to a culture of precision, proactivity, and team-first thinking—taking ownership of tasks, anticipating needs, and adapting quickly to evolving priorities in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • • In this role, you will develop hands-on expertise in residential design workflows, material specification, digital catalog management, and design documentation—building a strong foundation for a career in interior design, architectural coordination, or product development within the proptech or construction technology space.
  • • You will gain exposure to cutting-edge technology integration in homebuilding, learning how digital tools streamline traditionally fragmented processes, and position yourself at the forefront of innovation in residential construction.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 1–2 years of experience in a design assistant, administrative support, or related role within design, architecture, interior design, or residential construction environments.
  • • Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, maintain accurate records, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks in a fast-paced setting.
  • • Proficiency in data entry, document management, and basic digital tools; experience with Bluebeam, Photoshop, or InDesign is preferred for redlining drawings and creating mood boards.
  • • Strong time management and prioritization abilities, with a proactive, self-starting attitude and commitment to follow-through and ownership of work.
  • • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams and a genuine interest in interior design, architecture, or residential construction.
  • • Comfort with ambiguity and a growth mindset—ability to adapt quickly as priorities evolve in a dynamic, scaling startup environment.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Hybrid work model: based in Dallas, TX (or Houston, TX or Tampa, FL) with one day per week in-office and occasional onsite visits, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
  • • Opportunity to work with a mission-driven, VC-backed company that has raised $150M from leading investors including Google, Khosla, and Thrive Ventures, and is scaling rapidly in high-growth markets.
  • • Exposure to cutting-edge residential construction technology and end-to-end homebuilding processes, providing unique career growth in proptech and design operations.
  • • Collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a commitment to building a workforce where everyone belongs.
  • • Professional development opportunities through hands-on experience in design coordination, material sourcing, digital catalog management, and cross-functional project support.
  • • Access to Homebound’s comprehensive benefits package (details available via internal link), including health, wellness, and other perks designed to support employee well-being.
