📋 Description

• Lead the end-to-end design strategy for ModernLife Insurance Services’ digital platforms, ensuring intuitive, user-centered experiences that simplify complex life insurance decisions for advisors and their clients.
• Design and iterate on high-impact digital tools used by insurance advisors to assess client needs, compare products, and deliver tailored recommendations with confidence and clarity.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and insurance subject matter experts to translate complex insurance workflows into clean, accessible, and actionable interfaces.
• Own the visual and interaction design language across web and mobile platforms, maintaining consistency while adapting to evolving user behaviors and regulatory requirements in the insurance industry.
• Conduct user research and usability testing with insurance advisors and end customers to uncover pain points, validate design solutions, and drive data-informed improvements.
• Create and maintain design systems, component libraries, and style guides that scale with product growth and enable efficient cross-team collaboration.
• Present design rationale and prototypes to stakeholders, including executives and compliance teams, to secure alignment and drive product decisions.
• Advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and regulatory compliance in all design outputs, ensuring platforms meet industry standards for financial services and data privacy.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback, setting expectations, and fostering a culture of design excellence and continuous learning.
• Work in a fast-paced, AI-driven environment where design decisions directly influence customer acquisition, advisor productivity, and regulatory risk mitigation.
• Partner with data and analytics teams to measure design performance through key metrics such as task completion rates, conversion funnel drop-offs, and user satisfaction scores.
• Stay current with emerging trends in financial technology, digital insurance, and AI-enhanced user experiences to ensure ModernLife remains at the forefront of industry innovation.
• Balance rapid iteration with long-term design vision, ensuring scalability and sustainability as the company grows from a high-growth startup toward industry leadership.
• Operate as a senior individual contributor with leadership scope—this role may evolve into a formal design leadership position as the team expands.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional design experience, with at least 3 years in financial services, insurance, or regulated industries
• Proven portfolio showcasing complex B2B SaaS or financial product design, with emphasis on workflow simplification and regulatory compliance
• Expertise in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD; proficiency in user research methods and usability testing
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and compliance requirements in financial services
• Experience working alongside AI/ML product teams to design interfaces that incorporate predictive or automated features
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to non-design stakeholders, including executives and compliance officers
