Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Design core product surfaces for Viktor across Slack, Microsoft Teams, onboarding, integrations, permissions, billing, collaboration, and admin flows
- • Turn vague, high-stakes product problems into clear interaction models without waiting for fully specified requirements
- • Work directly with engineers to ship fast, collaborating as a creative partner rather than handing off designs and disappearing
- • Prototype AI-native UX patterns before industry standards emerge, defining new interaction paradigms for AI coworkers
- • Improve clarity, trust, and user control in moments where AI behavior is ambiguous, confusing, or unpredictable
- • Sweat detailed product moments including empty states, loading states, error states, edge cases, copy, spacing, and visual hierarchy
- • Help raise the overall product taste bar across every surface users interact with, ensuring consistency and high craft
- • Design both the happy path and complex edge cases, ensuring the product remains usable under unpredictable AI behavior
- • Operate with high autonomy, moving from ambiguity to prototype to shipped product without needing perfect briefs or approvals
- • Apply systems thinking to design reusable patterns, not isolated screens or one-off solutions
- • Use real product work from your portfolio to demonstrate ability to ship functional, user-tested experiences—not just polished Figma mockups
- • Understand the difference between a visually appealing prototype and a product people can actually use in daily workflows
- • Design within the constraints of existing platforms (Slack, Teams) while pushing boundaries of what AI collaboration can look like
- • Constantly iterate based on real user feedback, talking to users from day one and shipping changes within weeks
- • Build using Viktor to build Viktor—experience the product you’re designing in real time, every day
- • Own a surface of the product that customers depend on; when it breaks, you fix it; when it wins, your work is recognized
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong product taste with ability to explain why one flow feels obvious and another feels broken
- • Very high craft in interface design, typography, layout, and interaction detail
- • High autonomy—ability to move without fully specified problems or perfect requirements
- • Speed in going from ambiguous problem to prototype to shipped product
- • Systems thinking—designing reusable patterns, not isolated screens
- • Comfort with ambiguity—no mature playbooks exist for AI coworker UX
- • Strong collaboration with engineers—understand technical constraints and use them creatively
- • Portfolio with real shipped product work, not just case-study decoration
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary
- • High ownership over product surfaces customers depend on
- • Ability to ship your first week and talk to users your first day
- • Work in a small team with low process, high trust, and no alignment meetings or stakeholder syncs
