- • As a Desktop Support Engineer at Xebia, you will be an integral part of our dynamic and rapidly expanding IT team, based in our modern London office. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our daily IT infrastructure, directly impacting the productivity and efficiency of our UK-based employees. You will be the primary IT point of contact for a dedicated team of 30-50 professionals, acting as their go-to expert for all technology-related needs. Your mission will be to guarantee the utmost reliability, stability, and efficiency of our workplace technology, providing comprehensive support to both our highly technical and non-technical staff.
- • A core responsibility of this role involves the end-to-end management of the full lifecycle of company hardware. You will be primarily working with Apple MacBooks, from initial procurement and setup to ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and eventual decommissioning. This hands-on involvement requires a deep understanding of hardware diagnostics and repair, ensuring that all devices are in optimal working condition and meet the needs of our users.
- • You will be the champion of our macOS environment, providing expert, hands-on support. This includes troubleshooting software issues, managing operating system updates and configurations, ensuring security protocols are maintained, and assisting users with any challenges they encounter. Your expertise will be crucial in keeping our MacBooks running smoothly and securely, enabling our team to focus on their core responsibilities.
- • In addition to hardware and operating system support, you will play a key role in administering Google Workspace. This encompasses managing user accounts, ensuring proper access controls, assisting with application configurations, and troubleshooting any issues related to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and other Google Workspace services. Your administration will ensure our cloud-based productivity suite is leveraged effectively by all employees.
- • Supporting our networking and connectivity infrastructure is another critical aspect of your role. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to VPN access, ensuring secure and reliable remote connections for our team. You will also manage and troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity within the office, ensuring stable internet access for everyone. Basic networking issues, such as IP addressing and DNS, will also fall under your purview, requiring a solid understanding of network fundamentals.
- • Maintaining the overall health of our office IT infrastructure is essential. This includes managing and supporting various peripherals such as printers, ensuring they are functional and accessible. You will also be responsible for the setup and maintenance of our communication and collaboration tools, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams rooms, ensuring they are ready for meetings and virtual collaborations.
- • Delivering high-quality, user-focused technical support is paramount. You will be expected to respond to support requests promptly, diagnose issues efficiently, and provide clear, concise solutions. Building positive relationships with employees and understanding their unique technical challenges will be key to providing exceptional service. Your approach should always be empathetic, patient, and solution-oriented.
- • You will be instrumental in supporting our employee lifecycle from an IT perspective. This includes preparing new workstations for onboarding employees, ensuring they have the necessary hardware, software, and access from day one. Equally important is managing the offboarding process, ensuring all company assets are recovered and accounts are securely deactivated.
- • Beyond day-to-day support, you will act as an internal advisor and trainer on workplace technology. You will proactively identify opportunities to educate employees on best practices, new tools, and efficient use of existing technology. This might involve creating documentation, conducting informal training sessions, or simply offering guidance to help users maximize their productivity.
- • This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a growing, fast-paced global tech company. You will be part of a supportive community that values continuous learning and professional development, aligning with Xebia's broader mission of fostering smart tech, real ownership, and growth. You will work with modern, open-source stacks and collaborate with a team of experts, contributing to projects that matter and make a real difference for our clients.
