- • Serve as the public face and community heartbeat of Dapr and Diagrid, representing the company at conferences, meetups, podcasts, and across social media platforms including X and LinkedIn.
- • Drive growth and engagement of the Dapr open-source community across GitHub, Discord, and other channels by fostering contributor participation, recognizing contributions, and increasing adoption metrics.
- • Moderately and nurture the Dapr Discord community and future platforms, ensuring a welcoming, high-signal environment by answering technical questions, guiding new contributors, and escalating critical issues.
- • Create and publish high-quality technical content including blog posts for the Dapr and Diagrid Catalyst blogs, architectural guides, tutorials, and sample applications that demonstrate Dapr’s capabilities in distributed systems, AI agents, state management, and service invocation.
- • Produce, script, record, edit, and publish videos and demos for the official Dapr/Diagrid YouTube channel, covering use cases, feature walkthroughs, and recordings of community events.
- • Plan, coordinate, and deliver regular technical webinars, live coding sessions, and workshops focused on Dapr, AI agents, and cloud-native development patterns.
- • Organize and host Dapr Meetups, Dapr Days, and other community events in the San Francisco Bay Area and globally, with travel required for key events.
- • Build and share public-facing demos, starter kits, and reference architectures that showcase production-grade usage of Dapr with AI agents, workflow orchestration, and multi-cloud deployments.
- • Act as the primary conduit between the developer community and Diagrid’s Engineering and Product teams, synthesizing feedback, surfacing friction points, and communicating user needs to influence roadmap priorities.
- • Represent Diagrid publicly through conference speaking engagements, panel discussions, and media appearances, establishing trust and authority as a thought leader in cloud-native and AI agent technologies.
- • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to align community initiatives with product goals, marketing campaigns, and customer adoption strategies.
- • Stay deeply engaged with the open-source ecosystem, tracking trends in Kubernetes, microservices, serverless, and AI agent frameworks to ensure Dapr remains relevant and forward-looking.
- • Maintain active public code contributions and demo repositories using Python, Go, TypeScript, or .NET to demonstrate best practices and inspire developer adoption.
- • Promote Diagrid Catalyst as the production-ready platform for Dapr by highlighting security, reliability, and operational enhancements for enterprise AI agent deployments.
- • Monitor and analyze community health metrics — including issue resolution rates, contributor growth, content engagement, and event attendance — to continuously improve outreach and retention strategies.
- • Cultivate relationships with open-source maintainers, developers, and influencers to expand Dapr’s reach and deepen community loyalty.
- • Advocate for developer needs within Diagrid by translating real-world use cases into actionable product insights and technical documentation improvements.
- • Embody the values of open-source collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity in all community interactions and public communications.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, or microservices
- • Prior experience as a Developer Advocate, Developer Relations professional, or Community Manager
- • Demonstrated ability to create and distribute technical content such as blogs, tutorials, videos, or open-source projects that gained significant traction
- • Deep familiarity with Dapr or comparable projects (e.g., Temporal, Camunda, Orkes) and strong interest in AI agent architectures
- • Proven track record of moderating and growing online developer communities (e.g., Discord, Slack, GitHub)
- • Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex technical concepts such as sidecar architecture, stateful workflows, actor models, and LLM orchestration
