📋 Description

• Join CSG as an Operational Engineer II, a pivotal role within the CSG Assure team, dedicated to developing cutting-edge telecom testing software solutions.
• CSG Assure is a globally recognized artificial test traffic generation platform, trusted by leading mobile operators such as AT&T and Tata, to ensure the quality and performance of their services.
• Our platform comprises a sophisticated central cloud-based application and an extensive test network, featuring over 1,000 test probes deployed across 200 countries, meticulously simulating real-world mobile user behavior.
• In this critical leadership position, you will be instrumental in managing and operating this complex test network, ensuring unparalleled operational excellence and maintaining a high-quality testing environment for our discerning mobile operator clientele.
• You will lead a dedicated team of test network support analysts, empowering them to effectively monitor, manage, and optimize the vast network of test probes.
• A core responsibility involves performing daily operations within CSG's robust VMware Virtualization environment, ensuring its stability, performance, and availability.
• You will spearhead private cloud modernization projects, driving the transformation of traditional infrastructure into automated, resilient, and cloud-native platforms that align with future technological demands.
• Architect, design, and maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines that support enterprise-scale applications, fostering a culture of rapid and reliable software delivery.
• Champion the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles for efficient and consistent provisioning and configuration management across our infrastructure.
• Implement and manage containerization and orchestration platforms, including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, to modernize existing workloads and enable scalable, agile deployments.
• Enhance our monitoring, observability, and incident response frameworks, leveraging tools such as Zabbix, SCOM, Graylog, and ELK stacks to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Optimize our private cloud platforms, encompassing VMware, AWS, and Azure, with a keen focus on scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Uphold stringent security, compliance, and governance standards within our cloud operations, ensuring the integrity and safety of our systems and data.
• Collaborate closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure our cloud modernization strategy is seamlessly aligned with overarching enterprise goals and business objectives.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to fellow DevOps engineers, cultivating a team environment that embraces automation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
• Actively contribute to the adoption of Agile and DevOps methodologies across various teams, influencing and promoting best practices that enhance productivity and collaboration.
• Leverage your expertise to translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions, bridging the gap between business needs and technological capabilities.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support and resolution for critical operational incidents, minimizing downtime and impact on services.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud computing, DevOps, and AI/ML, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous enhancement of our platform.
• Contribute to the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the resilience of our critical systems.
• Drive initiatives to improve system reliability, availability, and performance through proactive monitoring, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventative measures.
• Engage in capacity planning and resource management to ensure our infrastructure can meet current and future demands effectively.
• Foster a culture of security consciousness, integrating security best practices into every stage of the development and operational lifecycle (DevSecOps).
• Analyze system performance metrics and identify bottlenecks or areas for optimization, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and user experience.
• Support the integration of AI/ML-driven automation tools and techniques to further enhance cloud operations, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics.
• Explore and implement Generative AI tools to accelerate automation tasks, such as script generation, documentation creation, and chat-ops functionalities.
• Contribute to the overall strategic direction of CSG Assure's infrastructure and operations, ensuring it remains a leading-edge solution in the telecom testing market.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering, with a strong foundation in VMware Virtualization administration.
• Deep expertise in private and public cloud platforms, specifically VMware vSphere and AWS EC2.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and automating CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps, coupled with experience in configuration management tools such as Puppet or Chef.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages including Bash, Ruby, Python, Perl, JavaScript, and PowerShell.
• Expertise with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Strong understanding of networking, storage, and security principles within private and hybrid cloud environments.
• Demonstrated experience in modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native or containerized architectures.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture principles.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and their implementation.
