- • Skydropx is revolutionizing logistics across Latin America, and we're looking for a visionary DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic, ambitious, and multicultural team. If you're passionate about growth, changing the world, and building scalable, robust systems, this is your opportunity to develop your career in a fast-paced environment.
- • As a DevOps Engineer at Skydropx, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our logistics platform. Your primary mission will be to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our services and products. You will be instrumental in developing new features and enhancing existing ones, always with a focus on secure and well-tested implementations that align with our company's strategic guidelines. This involves not just writing code, but also crafting comprehensive technical documentation that serves as a cornerstone for knowledge sharing and system understanding within the team.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to tackling high-impact and complex technical challenges. You'll be expected to diagnose and resolve intricate issues, demonstrating a keen ability to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize systems for large-scale operations. Maintaining high standards for our services and products is paramount; you will uphold our coding standards, ensuring the maintainability and longevity of our codebase. This proactive approach to problem-solving and system optimization is crucial for a company operating at the scale Skydropx envisions.
- • Beyond technical execution, you will be a mentor and a collaborator. We value knowledge sharing and team growth, so you'll be expected to guide and support fellow team members in developing their technical skills. Your role will involve removing obstacles that hinder autonomy and agility, fostering an environment where everyone can contribute effectively. You will be a key contributor to the team's overall value, articulating your ideas clearly and communicating them effectively to the leadership.
- • Critical situations can arise in a fast-paced tech environment, and you must be prepared to address critical issues when they emerge. This might involve being on-call or dedicating extra effort during high-pressure periods, such as new releases. Your ability to remain calm and effective under pressure will be highly valued. Furthermore, you will collaborate on support activities requested by internal teams, ensuring seamless operations across the organization. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for maintaining a cohesive and efficient workflow.
- • We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in cloud-native technologies, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your experience with services like GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Memorystore, Pub/Sub, VPN, Compute Engine, and IAM will be directly applicable to our infrastructure. A deep understanding of Kubernetes, at a mid-level or senior level, is essential for managing our containerized applications. You should be adept at managing environment variables within container instances and proficient with containerization tools like Docker.
- • Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka and/or Pub/Sub is also a key requirement, as these are integral to our event-driven architecture. You will be responsible for the development and deployment of infrastructure as code (IaC), ideally using cloud-agnostic tools, which promotes flexibility and portability. Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash and Python is necessary for automating tasks and streamlining operations.
- • A solid foundation in software engineering principles and best practices throughout the entire development lifecycle is expected. This includes a strong grasp of coding standards, code review processes, version control (e.g., Git), build processes, testing methodologies, and operational best practices. You should possess a comprehensive understanding of Linux operating systems, file systems, proxies, and web servers. Your practical experience in building and deploying large-scale distributed systems and high-quality client-server architectures will be a significant asset.
- • Finally, your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial for success in this role. You will be a bridge between complex technical solutions and business objectives, ensuring alignment and understanding across the company. We are building something special at Skydropx, and we need a DevOps Engineer who is ready to contribute to our mission of enabling Latin American businesses to thrive without logistical worries.
