Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the cloud backbone that keeps Glacier’s recycling robots running 24/7. You will architect, deploy, and continuously improve the AWS infrastructure that ingests terabytes of vision data, orchestrates ML inference at the edge, and delivers real-time analytics to plant operators.
- • Build bullet-proof CI/CD pipelines that let our software and firmware teams ship updates to hundreds of robots and cloud services multiple times per day with zero downtime. You’ll choose the right mix of GitHub Actions, blue-green deployments, canary releases, and automated rollbacks.
- • Make observability a first-class citizen. Design dashboards in Grafana, set SLIs/SLOs in Prometheus, and create self-healing alerts so that the on-call rotation is calm, predictable, and measured in minutes—not hours.
- • Automate everything. From spinning up multi-AZ Kubernetes clusters with Terraform to provisioning serverless Lambda fleets via CloudFormation, you’ll turn manual runbooks into one-click (or zero-click) workflows.
- • Run production-grade MLOps. Package, version, and deploy computer-vision models that detect plastics, metals, and paper on conveyor belts moving at 3 m/s. Monitor drift, trigger retraining jobs, and ensure GPU-enabled edge devices receive the latest weights securely.
- • Secure the fleet. Harden AMIs, rotate IAM keys, enforce least-privilege policies, and run automated CIS benchmarks. You’ll also own SOC-2 readiness and incident-response playbooks.
- • Optimize for cost and carbon. Use spot fleets, Graviton instances, and intelligent auto-scaling to keep cloud spend predictable while supporting Glacier’s mission of environmental impact.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally. Pair with hardware engineers to debug network latency on plant floors, sit in on customer calls to understand uptime requirements, and mentor junior engineers on best practices.
- • Scale data pipelines. Manage Postgres, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and S3 data lakes that grow by hundreds of GB daily. Tune queries, set retention policies, and ensure GDPR-compliant data handling.
- • Champion reliability culture. Run game-day chaos drills, publish post-mortems, and evangelize “you build it, you run it” across the org.
- • Influence product direction. Your metrics on latency, throughput, and uptime will directly inform which features we ship next and how we price our SaaS analytics offering.
- • Work fully remote from anywhere in Latin America while staying tightly synced with a US-based team through async docs, daily stand-ups, and quarterly on-sites in San Francisco.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years professional experience in DevOps, CloudOps, or SRE roles
- • 3+ years hands-on with Python, Ubuntu Linux, and Git in production environments
- • Proven expertise with core AWS services: EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC
- • Solid track record building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar
- • Production experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi)
- • English fluency (B2 or higher) for daily collaboration with US-based teammates
🏖️ Benefits
- • Mission-driven work—your code diverts literal tons of recyclables from landfills every day
- • Fully remote flexibility across Latin America with home-office stipend and co-working allowance
- • Competitive USD-based salary and equity in a well-funded, fast-growing climate-tech startup
- • Annual learning budget ($2,000) for courses, conferences, and certifications
- • Quarterly team retreats in inspiring locations to sync, strategize, and celebrate wins
