📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain automated security tools and processes to identify vulnerabilities, perform code analysis, monitor systems, and conduct security testing within CI/CD pipelines using SAST, DAST, and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Integrate policy-as-code and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) security scanning tools such as Checkov, tfsec, and Terrascan to detect and remediate infrastructure misconfigurations across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to design, deploy, and enforce secure cloud architectures, including proper access controls, encryption standards, and network segmentation.
• Configure, manage, and tune Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and firewall systems (e.g., Cloudflare or equivalent) to protect critical application surfaces from known and emerging threats.
• Implement continuous security monitoring solutions for real-time detection of anomalies, intrusions, and suspicious activities through log analysis, SIEM integration, and system observability tooling.
• Act as a security liaison between development, operations, and security teams to embed secure coding practices, threat modeling, and risk assessments into the software development lifecycle.
• Support compliance audits and regulatory assessments by preparing documentation, evidencing security controls, and ensuring alignment with industry standards such as OWASP Top 10, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Automate security processes using scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript to streamline vulnerability management, patching workflows, and configuration drift detection.
• Manage and optimize container and orchestration security for environments using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring image scanning, runtime protection, and policy enforcement are in place.
• Participate in incident response planning and execution, contributing to root cause analysis, mitigation strategies, and post-mortem improvements for security events.
• Promote a culture of security ownership across engineering teams by providing guidance, training, and tooling to integrate security early and consistently into development workflows.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving threat landscapes, security frameworks, and emerging DevSecOps tooling to continuously improve Deel’s security posture.
• Work within a globally distributed, remote-first environment, coordinating across time zones to support security initiatives for a platform serving 150+ countries and millions of users.
• Ensure all security automation and infrastructure changes are version-controlled using Git and follow DevOps best practices for peer review, testing, and deployment.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Deel’s secure-by-design architecture as the company scales its payroll, HRIS, benefits, and compliance infrastructure across diverse regulatory jurisdictions.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Security, SecOps, or DevSecOps roles
• Hands-on experience using policy-as-code and IaC security scanning tools such as Checkov, tfsec, or Terrascan to identify infrastructure misconfigurations
• Basic programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python, with proficiency in Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with WAF and firewall configuration (e.g., Cloudflare or equivalent)
• Knowledge of security principles including OWASP Top 10, secure coding, encryption, authentication, access control, and security testing
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring/observability tools
