📋 Description
- • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on Sysco’s fleet of tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, and light-duty vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- • Conduct FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all company-owned equipment in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- • Diagnose and repair malfunctions across all vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, clutches, drive-lines, differentials, steering, suspension, fuel and ignition systems, exhaust systems (including regeneration), intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems, and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components.
- • Timely address and resolve all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) write-ups to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain fleet operational readiness.
- • Follow documented procedures and accurately complete work orders for all maintenance and repair activities performed.
- • Utilize computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers to identify and resolve technical issues.
- • Perform electrical repairs including testing with electrical meters and working with DC (distribution center) low-voltage systems and electric motors.
- • Complete welding and cutting tasks using gas, electric, MIG, and TIG methods as needed for fleet maintenance and repair projects.
- • Maintain proficiency in Sysco’s internal computer programs and systems for work order tracking and fleet management.
- • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to DOT (FMCSA), OSHA, and environmental regulations.
- • Operate a variety of shop equipment, hand tools, and diagnostic tools to perform repairs and inspections.
- • Maintain personal tool inventory as required; diagnostic equipment and major tools are provided by Sysco.
- • Work non-traditional hours including Tuesday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with shift differential of $1.25/hr.
- • Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 lbs, standing, walking, bending, reaching, crawling, and repetitive motion with hand tools.
- • Work in varied environmental conditions including wet, hot, cold, humid environments, confined spaces, high or precarious places, and outdoors.
- • Maintain close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision with ability to adjust focus for precise mechanical work.
- • Possess excellent hand and finger dexterity for operating wrenches, hand tools, and shop equipment.
- • Participate in training and occasional travel to other operating companies or corporate offices as business needs arise.
