📋 Description

• • Define and validate mechanical equipment scope development during FEED phases for EPC projects, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and project objectives.
• • Review and audit mechanical content across equipment datasheets, vendor packages, and discipline handoffs to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and deviations from design intent.
• • Design and implement repeatable validation checks to detect mechanical scope oversights and inconsistencies early in preconstruction, reducing costly rework downstream.
• • Map common sources of mechanical rework across projects, identifying root causes tied to documentation gaps, misaligned discipline inputs, or unclear interface definitions.
• • Clarify and document interfaces between mechanical engineering and Process, Piping, Instrumentation & Control (I&C), and Electrical disciplines to improve coordination and reduce handoff errors.
• • Differentiate between repetitive mechanical tasks suitable for automation and those requiring expert engineering judgment to guide AI product development.
• • Translate real-world mechanical workflows into clear product requirements that enable AI systems to automate routine validation steps while preserving engineer oversight.
• • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure software tools accurately reflect industry practices in mechanical preconstruction, including ASME code compliance and equipment specification standards.
• • Identify and characterize common downstream mechanical equipment types and their associated design and procurement workflows to inform system training and validation logic.
• • Contribute to the development of AI-driven tools that reduce manual effort in preconstruction by automating document understanding, consistency checking, and workflow automation across mechanical disciplines.
• • Support the integration of mechanical engineering expertise into the product roadmap, ensuring AI outputs maintain engineering quality and regulatory compliance.
• • Act as a subject matter expert for mechanical workflows within the product team, providing feedback on system outputs and refining validation rules based on field experience.
• • Participate in cross-functional reviews to align mechanical automation goals with broader EPC project timelines, cost targets, and risk mitigation strategies.
• • Maintain awareness of evolving industry practices in mechanical preconstruction, including trends in packaged systems, turbomachinery, and integrated engineering delivery models.
• • Ensure all automated checks and product features are grounded in actual field workflows observed in major LNG, power, and industrial EPC projects.
• • Help establish benchmarks for measuring the impact of AI tools on preconstruction efficiency, focusing on time savings, error reduction, and scope accuracy.
• • Serve as a bridge between engineering teams and AI developers, translating technical mechanical requirements into actionable product specifications.
• • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing by documenting best practices for mechanical preconstruction automation and validation methodologies.
• • Maintain a focus on scalability, ensuring that automated workflows can be applied consistently across diverse project types and geographies.
