- • Own the end-to-end digital commerce roadmap for Smithfield’s portfolio of iconic brands—including Smithfield®, Eckrich®, and Nathan’s Famous®—translating brand stories into revenue-generating online experiences that reach millions of shoppers every month.
- • Architect and execute omnichannel strategies across eCommerce marketplaces, DTC sites, social commerce, and shoppable media, ensuring every touchpoint converts browsers into loyal customers while protecting brand equity and margin.
- • Partner with packaging, R&D, and retail teams to pilot cutting-edge technologies such as smart labels, QR-enabled recipes, and augmented-reality merchandising that differentiate Smithfield on the digital shelf and in-store.
- • Establish KPI-driven playbooks for SEO, SEM, PDP optimization, and paid social that lift organic rankings, cut acquisition costs, and grow ROAS; present weekly performance dashboards to senior leadership and adjust tactics in real time.
- • Evaluate, select, and deploy MarTech solutions—PIM, DAM, CRM, CMS, CDP—balancing speed-to-market with enterprise-grade security, privacy, and legal compliance; own vendor negotiations and multi-million-dollar budgets with zero overruns.
- • Lead cross-functional squads of marketers, merchandisers, data scientists, and IT engineers to integrate systems, unify customer data, and automate triggered campaigns that nurture shoppers from awareness to advocacy.
- • Champion rigorous A/B and multivariate testing for content, imagery, pricing, and promotions; translate insights into scalable best-practice libraries that accelerate experimentation across all brand teams.
- • Design frictionless user experiences—from site navigation to checkout to post-purchase support—by creating wireframes, journey maps, and technical specs that delight customers and reduce support tickets.
- • Drive retail innovation by co-developing joint business plans with Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, and emerging platforms; secure premium placements, lightning deals, and media packages that amplify new-product launches.
- • Own email, SMS, and loyalty program strategy: segment audiences, craft lifecycle journeys, and trigger personalized offers that lift repeat-purchase rates and lifetime value while respecting CAN-SPAM and GDPR rules.
- • Mentor and coach a high-performing team of digital marketers and analysts; set OKRs, conduct quarterly reviews, and sponsor Guild tuition programs to build the next generation of Smithfield leaders.
- • Serve as the company’s digital evangelist—host lunch-and-learns, publish internal playbooks, and present at industry conferences to keep Smithfield at the forefront of food-sector digital transformation.
- • Ensure 24/7 site reliability, cybersecurity, and crisis-response protocols; partner with IT and legal to maintain SOC 2 compliance and protect customer data across all digital properties.
- • Travel up to 25 % to retail headquarters, innovation labs, and industry events, gathering competitive intelligence and forging partnerships that unlock new revenue streams and first-mover advantages.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, IT, or related field plus 5 + years of hands-on eCommerce / digital marketing experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- • 2 + years leading teams or complex cross-functional projects, with a track record of coaching talent and delivering measurable business results.
- • Deep expertise in SEO, SEM, PDP optimization, paid social, and marketplace algorithms (Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, etc.).
- • Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets, vendor contracts, and P&L accountability without cost overruns.
- • Technical fluency in MarTech stacks—PIM, DAM, CRM, CMS, CDP—and the integration of APIs, analytics, and tag-management systems.
