Dir, Tax - Indirect (US-Remote)

📋 Description

• • Lead all indirect tax compliance activities for the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, including sales tax, GST, and use tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
• • Oversee the preparation, review, and timely submission of all indirect tax returns and related regulatory reporting
• • Maintain, enhance, and document internal controls and compliance procedures to ensure accuracy and reduce operational risk
• • Conduct technical research on evolving indirect tax laws and analyze their impact on CDK’s SaaS business model and customer transactions
• • Partner with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounting, and Sales Operations to ensure correct taxability determinations for products and services
• • Manage configuration, maintenance, and data integrity of indirect tax automation systems, including OneSource
• • Serve as the primary liaison between CDK and external tax advisors, state tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
• • Lead responses to tax audits, notices, information requests, and disputes across all applicable jurisdictions
• • Provide indirect tax advisory support for business initiatives, system upgrades, contract reviews, and new product launches
• • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize compliance and drive financial value for the organization
• • Drive process automation and efficiency improvements across indirect tax workflows to reduce manual effort and error rates
• • Mentor, develop, and manage a team of two indirect tax professionals, setting performance goals and providing ongoing feedback and coaching
• • Monitor compliance obligations in existing jurisdictions and initiate registrations in new jurisdictions as business needs evolve
• • Ensure full adherence to CDK Global’s internal policies, compliance tasks, and ethical leadership standards
• • Hire, onboard, and train new team members to support scaling tax operations
• • Organize team workflow, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure all team members understand responsibilities and deadlines
• • Model company values and leadership expectations while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement
• • Complete all mandatory compliance training and acknowledgements on time and meet or exceed all performance expectations
