📋 Description

  • The Enterprise Technology Governance Counsel will support the Legal Department and enterprise leadership by leading and coordinating key legal and governance initiatives across Brown & Brown and its subsidiary entities, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Day to day, the role involves conducting comprehensive reviews of enterprise-wide policies, standards, and guidelines to identify gaps and inconsistencies; partnering with Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, IT, HR, and business leaders to harmonize policies; leading efforts to rationalize, standardize, and modernize enterprise policies; supporting policy lifecycle management including drafting, revisions, approvals, and periodic review; developing and overseeing global technology and AI governance frameworks; monitoring legal and regulatory developments related to AI, data usage, and emerging technologies; assisting with drafting and maintaining technology and AI-related policies and contractual guidance; partnering with Technology, Security, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure responsible and compliant use of technology tools and vendors; leading and managing discrete legal and governance projects as assigned; providing legal analysis and recommendations on enterprise risk, governance, and technology-related initiatives; preparing executive-ready summaries, presentations, and briefing materials for senior leadership and committees; and supporting cross-functional initiatives requiring legal coordination and enterprise-level alignment.

🎯 Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant legal experience
  • Ability to analyze complex organizational structures and translate legal concepts into practical governance solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise, executive-level materials
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and operate with a high degree of independence
