- • The Director - Agreements role plays a critical part in supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's innovation-driven mission by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements related to intellectual property, research collaborations, and commercialization of cutting-edge technologies.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts such as technology license agreements, MTAs, NDAs, sponsored research agreements, and collaboration agreements; advising internal stakeholders on legal risks and best practices; ensuring compliance with laws like Bayh-Dole Act, export control, and GDPR; collaborating with inventors, researchers, business development, and external partners; conducting due diligence for licensing and partnership opportunities; providing IP strategy guidance; developing training sessions on contract processes and IP rights; and staying current on legal developments in technology transfer and IP law.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, JD, Master’s or PhD in life sciences, engineering or business preferred
- • Nine (9) years experience required with Bachelor’s degree; seven (7) years with Master’s/PhD; five (5) years with JD
- • Demonstrated expertise in drafting and negotiating complex IP-related agreements
- • Proven background in life sciences mergers and acquisitions, asset purchase, and licensing transactions
- • Experience with university, government, or industry research environments is a plus
- • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment
