• • Shape the future of enterprise risk management as a Director, Analyst Risk Management for Gartner’s Corporate Assurance Practice. You will become the trusted voice for 14,000+ global client enterprises, translating complex risk landscapes into clear, actionable guidance that enables Heads of Enterprise Risk Management, Chief Audit Executives, General Counsel, Chief Compliance & Ethics Officers, CEOs and Board members to make high-stakes decisions with confidence.
• • Own and expand a high-impact research agenda covering enterprise risk program and process management, emerging risk management and analytics, risk monitoring and mitigation, and the rapidly evolving influence of AI on risk functions. You will author forward-looking research notes, frameworks, maturity models and case studies that set the industry standard and are downloaded thousands of times per quarter.
• • Spend 40-50 % of your time in direct client engagement—delivering one-to-one advisory sessions, leading interactive videoconferences, and presenting on Gartner’s world-renowned conference stages. Your insights will help clients quantify risk exposure, design predictive risk analytics, and embed risk appetite into strategic planning, often influencing multi-million-dollar investment decisions.
• • Maintain Gartner’s reputation as the definitive source on risk by fielding press inquiries, providing rapid-response commentary on breaking regulatory changes, cyber events, geopolitical shocks and AI governance developments. Your thought leadership will be quoted in the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and other tier-one media, amplifying both your personal brand and Gartner’s market authority.
• • Continuously scan the external ecosystem—regulators, technology vendors, start-ups, academia and professional bodies—to identify weak signals and emerging themes. You will synthesize these insights into annual strategic planning assumptions, Magic Quadrants and Hype Cycles that guide CIOs, CROs and board risk committees worldwide.
• • Collaborate inside a highly matrixed, intellectually curious community of 21,000+ associates across 90 countries. You will co-create cross-practice research with cybersecurity, audit, compliance and AI colleagues, ensuring clients receive holistic guidance that breaks down silos and accelerates enterprise-wide value.
• • Mentor junior analysts and associate contributors, elevating the rigor of risk research across the practice. Your coaching will directly influence Gartner’s succession pipeline and reinforce a culture where bold ideas and evidence-based analysis thrive.

� Requirements

• • Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of progressive experience in GRC, Integrated Risk Management (IRM), enterprise risk management or risk analytics; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CRMA, FRM, PMP, CIA) preferred
• • Deep, hands-on knowledge of the Head of Enterprise Risk Management role, including design and governance of ERM programs, risk assessment methodologies, risk appetite statements and board reporting cadences
• • Demonstrated fluency with globally recognized ERM frameworks—COSO 2017 and ISO 31000:2018—and the ability to map them to diverse industry contexts
• • Proven track record advising, presenting to and writing for C-suite and board-level stakeholders; executive presence and the ability to command a room within the first 60 seconds
• • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the versatility to shift style from technical depth for risk practitioners to strategic storytelling for senior executives
