- • Define and champion KOHO’s multichannel creative vision across campaigns, product storytelling, content, events, social media, and digital platforms, with accountability for business outcomes.
- • Concept and create key creative pieces personally when required, operating as a "player/coach" who remains deeply involved in the creative process.
- • Lead, develop, and mentor a multidisciplinary creative team including art directors, designers, copywriters, and producers to ensure exceptional creative output aligned with business goals.
- • Set and uphold the creative standard for all brand assets, providing clear direction and feedback on both art direction and copywriting across all mediums.
- • Collaborate with product marketing to translate briefs into powerful, cohesive creative ideas that drive engagement and conversion.
- • Oversee photo and video shoots in partnership with the Studios team and freelance production crews, ensuring quality and brand consistency.
- • Brief, manage, and evaluate freelance talent and external agency partners during campaign surges and high-volume periods.
- • Establish and scale creative processes, review cadences, and quality standards as the in-house creative studio grows.
- • Present creative concepts and final work to senior stakeholders with clarity, conviction, and strategic alignment.
- • Build systems, structures, and workflows that enable high-quality creative output at scale while maintaining agility and innovation.
- • Direct art direction and copy direction for campaigns, brand identity, web, product interfaces, video, events, and social media content.
- • Supervise external agencies, freelancers, production partners, and all aspects of photo and video production as needed.
- • Ensure creative work consistently reflects KOHO’s mission to financially empower Canadians through clarity, bold thinking, and human-centered storytelling.
- • Partner closely with leaders across Growth, Lifecycle, Product Marketing, and Product teams to connect creative excellence with measurable business impact.
- • Actively utilize AI tools within the creative process to enhance ideation, production, and efficiency while maintaining artistic integrity.
- • Foster a culture of trust, autonomy, and high performance within the creative team, aligned with KOHO’s remote-first, asynchronous, and work-life integrated environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 15+ years of experience leading creative teams and organizations in ambitious, fast-paced environments with significant time at agencies or in-house teams that think like agencies
- • A portfolio demonstrating conceptual range across both copy and art direction, with big ideas that work across multiple mediums
- • Experience directing video and motion work, not just static design and copy
- • Proven ability to actively utilize AI in the creative process today
- • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, developing talent, and creating environments where creatives can do their best work
- • Strong organizational and operational skills to structure teams, allocate resources, and establish effective ways of working
