• • As the Director, Deployed Engineering - East, you will be instrumental in building and scaling our deployed engineering organization across the vital East US region. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring our customers' success by leveraging our cutting-edge suite of products, including LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith. You will lead a team of highly skilled deployed engineers who are the technical and strategic backbone for our most important clients.
• • Your team will work in close collaboration with our sales organization, focusing on pre-sales efforts to help prospects and customers architect and implement reliable, scalable AI agents tailored to their specific business needs. Beyond securing new business, your team's mandate extends to ensuring customers achieve remarkable success with LangChain, fostering long-term partnerships and driving adoption.
• • A core responsibility of this role is to establish LangChain’s technical and strategic credibility within enterprise accounts. You will guide these organizations in understanding why LangSmith stands out as the premier platform for evaluating, deploying, and observing AI agents, and why LangChain is the ultimate long-term partner for their AI journey.
• • Reporting directly to the Global Head of Deployed Engineering, you will operate as a strategic peer to the regional sales leader, sharing accountability for key business outcomes and customer satisfaction. This position demands a unique blend of organizational leadership, deep customer engagement, and direct revenue accountability.
• • You will define the operational framework for deployed engineering within the East region, cultivate a high-performing team, and ensure seamless alignment between technical excellence and commercial objectives. As a key member of the global deployed engineering leadership team, you will actively contribute to shaping our overarching strategy, developing essential playbooks, refining processes, and establishing best-in-class standards that will be adopted across all regions.
• • Key responsibilities include building and scaling the deployed engineering team through strategic hiring, effective onboarding, continuous coaching, and performance management as the team experiences rapid growth. You will be responsible for achieving the 'technical win' by driving urgency and focus with customers, thereby accelerating opportunity progression throughout the region.
• • You will forge a strong partnership with LangChain’s regional sales leader, sharing accountability for revenue targets and ensuring exceptional customer success. Leading the technical strategy for our most critical enterprise opportunities will involve direct engagement with senior technical and business stakeholders to influence evaluation criteria, architectural decisions, and overall solution design.
• • Differentiating LangChain in competitive landscapes will be a key focus, requiring you to articulate our technical advantages, product vision, and unique expertise in production-grade agent development and deployment with clarity and impact. You will set and maintain the highest technical standards for the deployed engineering function, staying intimately connected with product developments and serving as a role model for exemplary customer-facing engineering practices.
